What do you try to achieve in Aces high. ie. your own personal agenda, KvD, numbers of kills, taking bases, acm, survivability, damage caused
My personal goal is to not die (survivability) irregardless of what my mission is/was. I strive to land it.
-
as silly as it sounds, for me (less than a year in), it's the other players!
I find I have the most fun when i'm taking off of a runway with other plays for a common goal... The freedom to do what I want lonewolf style is always nice for those sorties a guy's not sure how much time he has.
I realize that the "horde" is an unfavorable term at times, but I just seem to have the most fun on those sorties with other players attempting to achieve the same goal.... Even if that goal isn't a "base capture", it's still fun. I suppose that's why I enjoy the Special Events and scenarios; I feel like i'm ACTUALLY part of a team instead of another Knit.
It would sure be nice to tweek the Pickup Missions to attract more pilots somehow, but simply using it more would also help. I was thinking the other day of posting missions overlapping one another even if I wasn't in them...
.... At any rate, My personal agenda includes saving/helping at least one friendly per night, wing up on someone and watch their 6 until i'm out of fuel or ammo...
Secondly it's to get one kill from my b-17's gunners... Gunner's need action too!
:salute
-
Not to die....but I like to get amongst it too so my main goal is pretty hard to stick to.....
I like to fight red guys not green so I put myself in stupid situations and hope/expect the best.....
My biggest like is to defend...that is what I do....
If I can thwart a base take....or even just make it difficult I am happy....
-
Recreating historic events. So flying FSO and Special Events has been the most fun for me. ET also has some fun missions in the MA that are based on history sometimes.
-
My 2nd main goal that I am still working on is to fight literally everything I come across, no matter the odds, and kill everything. :t
But 1st and foremost what matters the most to me is to have fun. :aok
-
Having fun.
ack-ack
-
My fellow Pigs, close seconds go to accomplishing orders given in Scenarios and killing red guys in the late war main arena.
-
Achieve?
:rofl
Not a thing :old:
Goals?
Yes to be the first UK President of the US :old:
-
your own personal agenda
Just over the trees, flaps full-out, stall horn blaring, flat scissors, watching to see where the other guy's going....If I can have one good fight each time I log into AH then my day is complete.

Getting high and flying low.

Having awesome times with great guys and gals.. makes every day worth it.. :rock

This. :aok

having fun no matter how many times i get vulched or shot down---and trying to land more than 2 kills

This.....

I like forming up in missions where every man has a purpose and a roll to take on and achieve a goal. kinda like how a war general would plan it out. :old:
Organised events are very fun but very time consuming. :salute
I also like taking up a nice fighter plane and getting into a heart pounding arm aching stress filled dogfight. :x
Mostly it is hanging and playing with people that have the same intrest in the game as me.
-
My score and stats speak for themselves:) I just wanna kill and die pretty!!
-
At first it was all about fighting and knowing when to rtb... Now I look for overwhelming odds and see how long I live. :x
-
Having fun is first.
The friends I have made playing the game.
Killing red guys. :devil
Learning to better myself in the air, this is one tough game to get good at and I like a challenge.
I dont play for score or K to D ratio, I play for quality kills landing is just a bonus :joystick:
-

That's the most fun you can ever experience in this game! Always a blast watching 6 planes overshoot all at once and not knowing who to shoot first! :x :x

Playing when my Dad is also online is what is most important to me. It's the whole reason I started playing.
-
having fun with squad mates, and a good many vs many fight.
-
What matters most... to you in Aces High;
That there is piece of pixel tarmac I can get a pixel 109 to take off from.
-
Blowing sh......ahhhhh..... stuff up. :D
-
What matters most to me right now is finding trouble, engaging, then landing with kills or no kills. Trying not to be a dweeb. That's a hard one. Lol.
-
Having fun.
ack-ack
that about sums it up :old:

What matters to me....
Having fun, chillin' with awesome people :rock
And kicking butt :D
Score and achievements matter less to me.
-
To kill more often then I am killed and to be as much of a general PIA to the opposing teams as possible
-
My fellow Pigs, close seconds go to accomplishing orders given in Scenarios and killing red guys in the late war main arena.
+1
The people you meet and fly with. Keep the good ones and chunk the others but there are a ton of great people in this game.
Edit: giant, never ending furballs

Closure on Midway's 6 while he's pounding away on ch 200 :devil
Have done so with substantial frequency.

Hard to believe, but we have elected dumber people. :D

Cheers :)
-
1) Having fun with people.
2) Accomplishing whatever task I've set out to accomplish on this sortie.
3) Returning to base after doing what I set out to do.
4) Crushing my enemies.
5) Seeing them driven before me.
6) Hearing the lamentation of their women.
7) Profit.
Wiley.

I do not recall this. :old: :bolt:
What matters most to me? Running into a highly skilled pilot to whom I become but a cheap toy for their amusement.. :salute My FPHs :rock

Zack would be a solid improvement :aok
-
The playful banter with my squaddies :rofl
I am affectionately called Commander Quiff by some. Then there's Lt. Taint, Capt beotch lips.....
-
What matters most?
Giving myself the shakes and sweats.
'cause that means I'm having fun.
Example: yesterday afternoon, cruising towers a bish airfield in my glorious Yak-7b at about 4k. Red icons above me, 2 spit-16's and a p-39q about Co-alt... Ruh roh, Raggy, here they come. Spitfires dropped in as I engaged the 39. Seemed like an eternity, probably only lasted 3 or 4 minutes, if that... All 4 of us on the deck.... Then 3, then 2, then just one...
The flight back to my field lasted maybe 10 minutes. I don't think my hands quit shaking the entire way.
THAT, to me, is what it's all about. I don't live through many of those, but that doesn't matter so much...as long as it gets the heart rate up....
-
:O
I do not recall this. :old: :bolt:
Oh, I do. It was a moment of giggity...followed by shame and sorrow. :ahand

Friendship, love and harmony

As already stated, what matters the most to me in AH are the friends that I have made throughout the years. As some of my new squadmates are finding, I spend a lot of time in the tower just watermelon chatting. Most of my time is spent in the Training Arena just talking to the players, new and old, that come there. I was talking to a former player yesterday on Facebook, and we both agreed that the fellowship is what brings us back. It's amazing how the friendships made in game have developed into friends outside of the game, whether we have personally met or not. I just like to fly and die with good friends!

that is strange but so true, same here

Well, was luck more than anything. :D

With the exception of a few players, the ones that I consider friends outside of the game I have actually met in Dayton. The ones that I haven't met, I have known in game since I started playing 7 years ago!

Being able to do something that Helps my "Rooks" team.
Even if it means flying a long boring mission to take out One VH or set of ords thats causing us problems, and even if I never get credit for anything. Knowing I did something for the team is enough.
-
I enjoy the hard fight, pretty equally matched pilots/planes and a hard fought victory whoever wins.
I also love the rare times I manage to egress from a multiple red scrap having given a few picker types a bloody nose :old:
-
I really enjoy just having a go. I'm far from artistic, but I have a skin in the game, done movies, my own off-line terrain etc. And then there's the friends I've made. Sometime I'll just sit in tower and go and do something and wait for someone to login.
-
Right now getting the Hans Rudel achievement using only planes he flew.
-
participating in FSO and just plain having fun trying to fly a plane. :D
-
Friends-Fun-Squad, that's the ingredients I put into my blender. That makes my day if I get the just perfect dosing of the three.

Maximizing lethality and trying to stay alive but never shying away from an engagement theres a way to win. Now that's fun.
What matters most is of course friends in my sqwad.
-
Anything that makes my score better.
-
1) Supporting squad members at all costs
2) Bombs falling on target
3) Sending intercepting aircraft to their doom
4) Landing safely
:aok

I just returned home from what I consider being the most important thing in Aces High. It's the community, all the good friends I've made during these years. It totally was worth the drive, about 400 km (250 miles) one way, to meet a bunch of the guys again. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=yZnRJPUKC98 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=yZnRJPUKC98) explains some. Or then not.

Flying the most ridiculous plane imaginable for the most inappropriate mission and trying to be successful.
My unofficial team "The Troll Patrol" was founded on that principle.
Defending against base takes in Spitfire Mk1's AND landing kills.
D3A strat runs. And then dogfight the interceptors.
Ju-88 Fighter sweeps.
or, my personal fave, High altitude distance records in Storches
-
Here are mine:
1). Flying as a team with my squadron and contributing to that group
2). Historical "immersion" (to which events like FSO add tremendously)
3). Challenge of improvement (I used to keep track of mostly K/D ratio in MA but now mostly try to improve my survival rate and kill streak in FSO)
-
Achieve?
:rofl
Not a thing :old:

Yes to be the first UK President of the US :old:
I thought the UK was just another US state just like Canada or Mexico.

Just flying and having a good time on squad VOX is a good night for me whether I get shredded in the air or manage to live for a little bit.

What matters most to me in Aces High are scenarios. I've felt that those are the best part of online flying since 1992, when they started.
Scenarios throughout time:

The most important thing....have fun, learn something about thegame every time I play, and to become involved in the community

Having fun, flying with and against a great bunch of people. Uh that means GVing also. :D

What matters most to me in Aces High? Infuriating subknights and keeping my brethren alive.

Taking Base V91 in Tank Town by myself....then grabbing a Wirb and shooting down all the bombers that show up 5 minutes later...LOL
:devil :neener:

I like logging on, finding a good base to fly from and staying in the same plane as long as I can, I take off full of fuel and try to intercept whatever I can find, moving around the map from rearm pad to rearm pad!
Some days that works well, others,,not so much! It just seems more realistic to me to have to do it that way,, I'll assign myself a job, protect the strats or keep up a fighter sweep of a certain sector.
When I GV, I'm just looking for the best fight I can find, I don't care about the base captures or winning the war, I just want some good competition , it is nice to find a few players that are good enough to send me to the tower more than once,,I hate the GV drivers that have to go get ords and bomb a good GV fight or capture the base ruining it, so I try to not do that myself, if I get bombed to many times, I'll up a fighter and fly cap over the GV fight, looking for heavies coming in.,, Just my 2 cents
On another note,, Salute to Nordman today,, Darn fine shooting in your M-4, I don't run across many as good as you in it!

Ya, gotta agree. Whether scenarios or just historically accurate missions when the History correct plane sets are used together its the most fun to me. To bad it happens so little.
