I had NO idea he was Tuskegee Airman.. I meet him when I was working for a criminal attorney in Chicago...who was called to his office on a 'pro-bono' request... Tough? This guy grilled me on my grades, motivaton..etc. Sat in his court many times. I just but hope I can get to heaven..'cause this man will be there waiting.
note; LAtimes article on him 'crossed FaceBlots' line...to bad, hell of a man.

Ive testified in his court a few times. Not a guy you wanted to piss off.
I never knew he was in the Tuskegee unit. I'll give a :salute to his military service tho I'd never think of giving one to a Cook County IL. Judge.

We may have sat near each other, Rich...
The stories of the Judges reactions to witness' that he felt were less than honest...I could tell some of them..but will not.
S Rich...he was, as I remember..ostercized by the 'Chicago Machine' for a long time, as he would not(or could not) conform.
Were you a LEO?? No matter..again S.

So Groth, were you arrested in Judge Strayhorns court? What type of work did you do?
I'm having a bit of trouble following your story. I am finding it interesting though. Tell us more about the Judge, what would he do when he thought someone was lying?

I 'worked for' a criminal attny in Chicago...
My 'job' was to meet his clients at odd times and 'hold their hands'..all were DUI's..my job wasn't to question how they'd gotten their...
'Morning Court' had many names depending on court...Bensonville, Elk Grove Village(which at that time MADE more money on traffic tickets than City of Chicago)...
The Judge, Earl Strayhorn called my boss, and my boss asked me to join him at the Judges Chambers in Cook County Court House...I used to know address..and do not care to remember the address now..and assigned my boss a pro-bono case...
What?? He couldn't Do That...it was A Firm request...
It was 'part-time' job...which I rather liked..certainly diffrent than fixing bicycles I'd done previously...
There would be prostitutes, pimps, asaults....you name it.. I would sit nearby his clients and 'walk-them'thru'...Bensonville was worste..their morning judge would find anyone guilty unless they opted for trial... My memory may be faded, but ..
