Don't the Brits like their beer warm? I suspect the Spit is just transporting it.
I know some of our boys would take the bear up to 20,000+ using their F4Us in the Pacific. Cold beer in the South Pacific must have been a Godsend.

Yep, "mod XXX" was the modification you looked for when deciding which Spits to send home for liason trips.

Johnny Johnson's "Wing Leader" recounts his unit fixing up a Spitfire to transport beer. This could be it.

2nd tactical air force :) They used barrels on the spit V and also carried beer in long drop tanks on the spit 9 aswell.
