Last night me and a friend where flying in tank town. A LA7 dove in on him and I told him to break off the p38, however because there where so many people on range vox talking about, well who knows what, he didn't get my transmission on channel vox until about 5 seconds AFTER he was in the tower.
Please make it so vox channel will interrupt the range vox buffer or at the very least have the ability to mute or detune from range vox.

Although not perfect, it is a good wish.
+1
The downside of course is a GV might be giving a check 6 to a plane but is cutoff by a plane to plane vox.
I like the GV guys but sometimes their chatter is over whelming.
-
I agree.
Perhaps separate channels would solve the issue.
Air range, ground range, all range
-
Realistically, (in a perfect world) it'd be nice if folks could just keep range clean unless communicating proper objectives... However since that won't ever happen, and I myself am guilty of chatting like a magpie on vox and range.. I'm in favor of some sort of priority system.
-
the ole ' gets thru no matter how many chitchatters are on range.
-
channel vox should have been given priority since the very beginning. :aok
-
I've never tried but being able to de-tune range would be awesome in this and the other thread, problem solved!
-
A free workaround is C3. It doesn't have all the refinements of Teamspeak, but for $0 you can't really complain. Pretty light on resources too.

Giving it priority is likely the only option that might happen.

HTC won't do that due to the potential negative impact on new player's experience. Talking, but not getting a response because the intended recipient(s) have detuned range vox.
I could be wrong, but that is how I think they'd see it.

C3 is good for being Free G3-MF used it for over a Year and then we went to ventrilo. there is somtimes up to 15-20 sec of lag in vox ingame and by then your dead i would get a outside the game vox to solve this :salute

+1 :aok Very often is channel vox cut off for me
-
I like these ideas! +1 :aok
VOX should ALWAYS take priority over range. It'd be neat to see the separate range channels as well (land range, air range, all range). If you're trying to coordinate something with someone who isn't in your squad or on VOX and people are taking up range with chatter, switch over to land or air range where it's quieter.

Every game Ive ever tried that has relied on 3rd party comm apps has "always" had lousy comms. Bad enough to entirely ruin the experience. In my opinion the in game comms of AH is one of its biggest draws and any move to draw players to 3rd party comms would diminish the game.

My squad, and many others, use a 3rd party comms such as TeamSpeak and/or Ventrilo and the comms on them are excellent. However, you pay for what you get.

and a big advantage is that its a "secure" channel <S>

IT is like $8 for 15 users per month

so is the squad channel (the red one, but that doesn't work with multi-wing hordesquads)

Depends on the quality and who hosts the server for you. I currently pay $6.80 a month for a 25 slot TeamSpeak 3 server. I can add more slots or go to a smaller slot plan at anytime. There are cheaper ones than this as well.

How does one "detune" range vox other than taking headphones off?

And no doubt you also stay tuned on range vox as well in AH.
Which is my point. Its important for everyone in a particular fight to stay connected. Go to a game thats developed a culture of not using in game comms, if they even have them in the first place, and you'll see a game with zero teamwork. Sure it helps if your in a squad and playing together but even then, and what about the other nights when your playing alone?
BF4 and COD suck cause nobody can communicate except squads using 3rd party software. Many other games do too. But games that at least have a built in option that players can use along with 3rd party comms are always better games.
Then again squad life is far better in AH then in most of these games, the squads of which are often populated and led by softballs.
