Title: 2 graphical wishes
Post by: Debrody on April 24, 2014, 08:56:12 PM
-make the ground cutter visibility range adjustably, preferably with a slider
-make an option to keep the ground cutter in the vram when the player is in flight and is climbing above the certain alt. Had a nice fps with the GC enabled, even when flying low, but there was a major lag pike when i was diving down to very low altitude, guessing it was due to the load-in of the textures.

Not sure in aces high but in anyother game I know for a fact VRAM is used until its full and then stuff starts paging to RAM.

Yeah I get the lagg spike as well, but I think it's due to loading either the skin or nose art of a plane thats just flown into visual range cos it's happened to me at 10,000ft.

The system is completely different, spike should be gone. Did you want shorter or longer rang adjustment

Longer would be nice as it would allow a fade in that is much harder to see.

Longer.  For people with graphics cards that can handle it having the ability to set a longer range will decrease the immersion killing sudden grass growth as your tank moves forward.

Also I wish when say for example belly landing the grass doesn't appear like its going through the wing.

I have yet to see a game manage to pull that off.  I only have rudimentary programming skills, but I can't even think of a way to acomplish that function that would not be catastrophically expensive in terms of processing power needed.
