Greebo didn't want to take on this project because of the checkered nose, and I don't blame him. I fussed around with it for a few hours before getting it to look decent. Still needs a bit of work though so I will probably spend a bit of tomorrow trying to get it looking a bit cleaner (from what I can tell at this point, perfect is out of the question).
This bird belonged to the 350th FS 353rd FG and appears to have had invasion stripes at one point but they were rubbed off on the upper surfaces.

Holy cow, that looks great Player1! Wtfg!
The only observation is the lack of the red "no step" rectangular section of the upper inboard flaps. Did you find any other full fuselage photos? I remember seeing one once but can't find it again.

I can fix the no step markers tomorrow morning.
I haven't been able to find any helpful photos other than that one. I also used the color profile you showed, and stumbled across a very crude sketch on Google but I don't think that's a credible source (it was very badly drawn).

I think I'll be using a new D11 skin for a while. :aok

Nice skin Dragon. :aok
I'd suggest adding some subtle shading behind the cowl flaps to make it look as though there is a gap there. Also I think the control surface hinge lines should stand out a bit more, particularly the ailerons.

Good work, you are getting better. The inside of the engine cowl is on the bottom right of the skin. Make it match the yellow/alluminum.

I may still have my 353rd p47 file I did a while back. I spent a few days going pixel by pixel with the diamond checkers. If you would like I can see if I still have it and send it to you.

Thank you for all the feed back, it's good to know I did a good job (not bad for only my third bare metal skin :D)
I added shadows to the the area just behind the cowl flaps as Greebo suggested, I also added the no step squares to the wings and added some shadowing to the control surfaces (to make them look a bit more rounded). I also added shading for the control surface hinges, this was a detail that I completely overlooked on the skin.

Thank you for the offer Larry, but I think I got her as good as it's going to get. :)
Edit: Your 353rd skin is an orphaned status, if you don't want someone to take it I would log into the skins administration so that the system knows you're still active.
