GV's should run out of fuel. Gasoline trucks would bring out more fuel.
When the fuel tanks are down at a field the gasoline trucks are disabled.
It would add another strategy to the game.

Respectfully requesting.

GVs dont travel anywhere. They spawn close to their destinations and just maneuver a little around it. Why should they run out of fuel from such a short drive?

For some GVs this is true. But I've seen quite a few cases recently where the GVs drove a considerable distance to supply/capture a field, to just to get in a fight.

+1 A couple of rockets would make a nice explosion.

+1 To this argument
-1 To the wish, there are no distances driven long enough for gv's to eventually run dry of fuel. Only good having a fuel truck is for pretty explosions. :D

^^ Oops
There we go.

You do realize that a GV's range would exceed 4 sectors of travel, right? Even the Tiger II has a range of 110 miles, the Panther 160 miles, or 6 sectors. Fuel isn't an issue.
-
Nice try, Mano. I suggest you switch to something like the UB6, which is already modeled for the convoy. Then we could have Stalin's Organ pumping rockets to go with the 251, and the Calliope.
-
Okay then use fuel trucks at the airport rearm pad. How cool would it be to blow them up.
-
GREAT IDEA!
I wonder if there is somehow HTC could code the range of each vehicle in to the game, then get the burn ratio tied to the stress of the engine (idle = low ratio and full speed = high ratio), then figure out how (if any) a penalty would or could be applied to the gv itself for taking 100% or 25%.

then figure out how (if any) a penalty would or could be applied to the gv itself for taking 100% or 25%.
The Panzer IV carried 470 litres of gasoline, weighing about 780lbs. That's less that 1.5% of it's totall weight. There would be absolutely no performance reason for not taking 100%.
And in AH, it's very rare for a tank to drive even one full sector (25miles). Drives of several sectors (as suggested earlier in this thread) are so extremely rare, I'd guess they are more probably in the range of one per 1000 or even 10,000 sorties or so (currently we are in the range of 200-300 thousand GV sorties per tour). The average GV sortie lasts less than 6 minutes...

GV's use fuel? I've yet to run out of fuel in a gv, EVER. I once upped a Panzer H with 25% fuel and left for the day. When I came back, there was NO change to fuel. Just happily sitting there, still running as if I had just upped the thing. :noid

GV's use fuel?
They don't. The OP is asking for it. :old:
-
DOH! :bhead :o
Wouldn't bother me any. :aok
-
I would like fuel trucks.
...As targets :t And they should be modeled so that when hit they explode in a massive fireball with the driver and passenger jumping out and running around in circles on fire.
Edit: purely for realism and immersion of course.

There is no reason for fuel trucks. Unless I run outa fuel in my plane and I land on the ground and a squady comes driving me fuel for my plane because a lot of times that has happend to me. This way I will be able to get a successful landing and put my kills on the board lol.

Or if I land my plane next to it, I could get refueled...
-
LOL.....refuel the planes too. I like that idea.

You must not roll with the FB's much :rofl

Exactly... And what if you could do the same with ammo trucks? If that we're the case, squaddies could set up, terrain permitting, mobile rearm/refuel pads. Imagine a surprise penetration raid based on coordinate tv and ac assets... It would lend a new dimension to the game.
-
you'all do realize that the gv's don't run out of fuel now....why make it were the gv;s can run out of fuel--just so there can be a fuel truck, thats just silly--and spawn points are not the same distance on all maps--most are 3 to 6k from the base's
