If your high in the sky at 15,000 ft.. and you encounter, say four 109k4's.. which plane are you in and why.. I want to hear interesting answers.. don't tell me a story now i'm 33 years old for godsakes.. but a good answer.. and bear76 you are banned from posting here

ME262.
-
When that happens, usually it's when I decided to up the damn Lancaster. :bhead
-
a 109k4, come at me broz
Because fighting 4 k4's alone in mine actually does sound like a fun challenge :aok
-
Nothing. Because Im at 5K or lower! :P
Only reason Im ever at 15K or higher is because I had to chase someone up there. :)
-
If I was in a Ta or another high alt plane, I'd try to drag them even higher and hit them when they start floundering.
Then again, I'm really good at getting shot down so maybe that's not a good tip.
-
:P

o bear i missed u so.. lmao :old:

If I'm at 15k, I'm still on climbout. I could be in anything, because I like to fly pretty much anything. Whatever I'm in, I'm going to try to kill them.
Wiley.
-
I'd go with ole betsy f4u-4.. always had the best luck with her.. would dive and pull away from them and turn and burn on the deck.. if you can get a few popped or down great.. if not ruuuuuuuuun home!! lol
-
well it would be a good challenge in a P38j keep your E up and fight'em vertical get him to hang on their props and fall. but if there 4 skilled pilots you would hope they'd want to go one on one with you.
-
Bear, please stop letting your monkey out of his cage. He's going to hurt himself one day and you'll just end up blaming yourself.
Thanks,

F4U-1A, or maybe the F4U-4.
Why? Because they're hand's down the best planes in the game, and they're all I fly.
Besides, that's not terrible odds; there's got to be a reason there are 4 of them all together... They probably rely on numbers over skill, and numbers are generally easier to deal with than skill is!

You really live life on the edge. ;)
-
Honestly the f4u-4 is the best in the game.. Why?? Don't even have to ask.. more like use it.. the only point you'll find..
-
What difference does it matter what plane you are in, fight until you die and figure out where you screwed up.
-
4 v 1 pretty much done from here man.. sorry that is true with a nod to u.s. engineering tho.. you had the option of egressing to a safer position.. :headscratch:
-

Not going to argue with you; I can't help it if the only WWII plane I have more than a passing interest in also happens to be the best...
Do you "live life on the edge"?
-
4 v 1 pretty much done from here man.. sorry
Seriously???
It sounds like you have the wrong mentality to be a successful fighter pilot in AH!
The thought that I might lose never once crossed my mind; I expect to win every engagement! Once in a while I'm not proven correct, I suppose, but I'm at least a little surprised in those instances.

No i'm with you man.. when it's go time its go time.. and you go to the target.. I have no differences with that..

a -4 hog... eat them lil minnows for lunch! :aok

This……this I agree with :aok

Swear out aloud in 3 languages :joystick:
-
At 15k you can get most k4s to compress and lawn dart...
-
Most likely I'd be in a Spit IX. 15K is just below the alt where the IX looses power for a few K so the fight should go OK. Take it over 20K and I'd own them.
The last time I faced four K-4's (it was actually 6-7 K-4's) was in a scenario where I got caught alone in a Spit XIV at 25-30K. No one got any kills but it was nip and tuck for over 5 minutes before I spotted an opportunity to egress safely and rendezvoused with my scenario squad mates.
-
fight until you die and figure out where you screwed up.
For me it's at the point where I decide to fight until I die :old:
-
I-16... and the fun begins :x
But in reality...
Most likely I'm with a few fellows in P-51D Escort at SEA over Europe that have just dived from 20K-25K at low 109s... and let the hunt begin... :x :x :x

If you would have asked what would you like to be in, I would answer 262 but if you asked which plane you _are_ in, that would be whatever at hand. Most likely a brewster.
-
I bail out just before they get close enough for a proxy
-
But seriously, I'm usually in a Ki-84 and I would rather fight them lower. So, I try and convince them to come down. Usually, only one or two will come down and the others will stay high. I try and avoid their passes and bleed their E. When we get into it I try and give one the perfect opportunity to do a tailslide (they love that) while masking that I can actually get guns on them during the flop before his buddy gets around on me. Just before I explode him, the two I guessed wouldn't come down swoop in and potato me :D
Four decent sticks in k4s are trouble

Except the spit16 can out climb it, out turn it, out accelerate it, out roll it. The u4 is just faster... and i guess that makes it 20 perks more...
-
Perk planes included, the Me 163. No perk planes, I'd pick the Ta-152.
-
in a Ki84
if I am fast (did I just get to 15K or have I been cruising along)
I would head directly to them...depending on my speed, I would try to go for some ALT on them....
you have a much better chance of killing them all if they are trying to come up to you....
fake attacks....try to get them all in the same air space....much easier to reverse 4 cons all close to each other then spread out all over....
fight in the vert, yes even against K4....
time your merge to when they are stalled out, land your hits at convergence....
if they are much faster I would slow down even more and just use over shoots and land hits as they pass by.....fighting nose down, but de-throttled....if they all slow down to within flaps usage, convert immediately to the vert fight....
the best fighters can switch it up with out thinking about it.

I will be in a TA152 when I see them. I will probably be at 25k and at speed. I will probably have been anticipating them because of the inbound dar bar. I will have a 50/50 chance of killing the first one (maybe two) before they see me. I will climb and then roll back around for #2. If they are still tight they will most likely wait to break untill I am close. As they break I will pretend to focus on one and then at the last second change to his wingman and kill the second one as he breaks hard because he misjudged who the target is. Most likely the last 2 will seperate then. I will hold my E and keep making passes on the biggest threat but hopefully never leaving one long enough to get above me. The third guy will die because he lost patience and tried too hard for a shot. The fourth guy will go nose down and run. I will chase him back to the dar on his own base then break off and fly home for fuel and ammo.
Well, that's the plan anyway.
If they are smart and attentive, I don't get to sneak up, they never leave their wingman and stay in pairs and whip me untill I'm crying for my squaddies who will then swoop in and kill them all leaving me with nothing but a smile.
-
mossie and HO them all!
-
when it's go time its go time..
You think your better than me !? ( Lloyd Bridges quote) :rock

Below 10K I would argue with you that this is not a given. However at 15K the power-weight advantage of the 109 becomes smaller. The K4 still has 9 minutes of WEP to 5 for for the F4U-4 though, and this could become a factor.

B-17G Formation with guns ready to rock.
Why?
Because it's the only aircraft I can shoot another down with. :)

Read initial post and went right to answer, skipped the middle.
What plane am I in? Why the one I took off in, of course. :aok
Unless I joined someone to gun. :)

The only hope you have of getting a straight answer on this is via PMs or hope someone in the Help Section takes it seriously.
If people wanna' be smart alecks at least answer the guy with a serious reply mixed in somewhere.
Great way to attract new players. Representing the community really well there, people...

This works!
I'll be the first to confirm that, INK showed every above mentionned aspect to me the hard way the other night. Time after time... Even tho I was not in a K4, I don't think my choice in plane really mattered much anyway, I am going to drink my WD40 now and hopefully the rust will go away.. :cry

I had a great fun time while fighting you, so much that I went looking for you sortie after sortie just to get that adrenaline flowing again. :rock
Yes higheye is the supreme leader of my squad actually, I'm just a squaddie myself.
(I think I broke my twisty during our last ki84 vs ki84 fight, I had to flip my plane around fast and I twisted hard left rudder so much I could feel something gave..) :uhoh
But great fun as always fighting you Sir, even if I did not last too long in any of those fights. :lol Salute! :salute
