Title: AKDogg's Soundpack
Post by: AKDogg on April 30, 2014, 09:38:16 AM
The time has finally come to release my new sound pack.  The entire sound pack has been gone through and/or changed.  It is no longer called Sketchworks.  There are only 2 sounds that I am using from another pack (Challenge) which I have gotten permission to use.  Those are the Brakes and BBDoors sound files.  I have normalized all sound files to be -3db or less with exception of a few that are still -1db because when in the plane they were to quiet.  Most of the American, BF109's, and zeke's plane engine files are actual records of them from within the cockpit.  Other planes may share those engine sounds with alittle tweak because of exhaust location in relation to where the pilot sits or just because I can't find a engine sound because plane or the engine doesn't exist anymore.

Enjoy everyone and report any problems to me with the pack. :salute

It seems the P40F has the wrong engine sound. The P40F used the merlin engine yet in the pack it sounds like the rest of the P40s  :salute

EDIT: Same issue with 109d9/ta152 engine sounds like a db602/605 in the 109 where it should sound more like the junkers jumo 211 in the ju88

Well, the P40F I messed up on.  Didn't realize that was a different engine.  Simple fix as just copy the P51 engine to the p40F as they used the same engine.  As for the FW190D-9 (which I believe you are talking about and not the 109) and the Ta152, those engines in my pack don't sound like the 109's at all.  The startup engine sound does because they basically used the same style of starting.  Hand crank spinning fly wheel setup.  The D9 and ta152 will sound different to the Ju88 as the Ju88 has 2 engines that are on either side of you where as the 190/ta152 is 1 engine and sits in front of you.

I will fix the P40F right now and reupload the pack.  Those of you who already downloaded the pack before this post, just copy the eng.wav, engstart.wav, and engoff.wav to the P40F folder from P51D folder.

Uploaded updated sound pack at 2:14pm eastern with p40 fix.

I use your gun sight pack you made ages ago.

Been thinking about updating that too, especially since I just been laid off today, lol.  No big deal though since I knew it was coming since Christmas time.  Got some time on my hands.

I still use that sight pack.  I'm interested to see how you will updated if you decide to. :x

Laid off?  That's no fun.  Happened a lot when I was working through a temp service.  Contracted work is not stable after all.  Good luck finding a new job, unless you are set to sit back till things turn to dust. :)

Here is a fix for all the A6m engine noise issue.  Just unzip and then copy all the A6m folders over the existing a6m folders in the sounds folder.  Or just take the eng.wav file from the zip file and copy it over the eng.wav file in each of the A6m folders within the sounds folder.  The sound pack also has the update.  Hopefully that is it.  Haven't heard anything else.   :pray

Not to nit pick but the brewsters engine start sounds like a motorcycle  :headscratch:

Also the b29 should sound a lot like a b17 given its the same engine just double row. (meaning the engine sound, if anything the b29 should be a bit deeper than the b17 because the engines are farther back plus double the cylinders)

The b24, b25, and b26 all sound the same yet have different engines. (talking about start ups here mainly)

The a6m and ki43 use the same engine and thus would sound pretty much the same, yet the ki43 sounds more like a ki84 in your pack.

Other than that I really like it  :aok
