Title: May 8 anniversary of Coral Sea. Great practice for June scenario.
Post by: Brooke on May 07, 2014, 12:58:44 AM
Please join me for "This Day in WWII:  Coral Sea" on May 8, the anniversary of the battle.

Unlimited-life event.  One of the main carrier battles of WWII.

It runs at two times:  3 pm Eastern (8 pm UK time) and 10 pm Eastern.

This was the battle where the Lexington and Shoho met their ends, and where the Yorktown and Shokaku were heavily damaged.

I should make the 10pm EST round unless bad weather interferes with my satellite connection.

Thank you to everyone who came to the 3pm running of this event.  Numbers were a little low but I hope you still managed to have fun - if you enjoyed the event, spread the word and see if we can boost the numbers for next month's "This Day inWW2" event.  If today's event whetted your appetite for more Pacific action, you may consider registering for the next Scenario due to run in June.  Details can be found at pacificwar.wordpress.com (http://pacificwar.wordpress.com) and you can register at ahevents.org (http://ahevents.org).

Results for this running were:
Allies - 10 kills but no ships sunk = 10 points
Axis - 6 kills and one ship sunk! = 56 points
Therefore Axis win.  :)
Well done to MrJumper, the only player to sink a ship!   :aok

Logs are here (http://www.ahevents.org/event-logs.html).

No luck for me. As feared this little rain storm (all clouds, barely drizzling) has whacked my satellite internet connection to the point where I keep getting booted from online play. For the avid  ww2 flight sim gamer, living in the rural country suuuuuucks!
