Thank ya

The Steam requirement ruined it.

If only chopping wood paid so well in real life.
Steam requirement?

The best tip I can think of is to save your level up points and focus very closely on certain skills.
You can reset them later and redistribute them.

Really excited to be getting my new computer in the next 2-3 weeks, skyrim is #1 on my list of games to get. :D

I haven't modded Skyrim in awhile, but it is a PITA to get stuff in....hopefully they will have the new scripts for blender to read the Skyrim nif files....
when I did the weapons( I was trying to add animals also) you needed to use a couple different programs to convert the Skyrim files so Blender could read them...and it never worked out to be "easy" :bhead :bhead :bhead
I wanted to add for the OP
the vanilla version of Skyrim is kinda cheesy....I mean cmon man there is no way in hell a guy with a sword is gonna kill a 90 foot fire breathing dragon....
my suggestion is to grab some mods that make it more realistic...."Deadly Dragons" is almost an absolute must.....
once you install that mod......I suggest you DO NOT try to fight the 90' flying.... fire breathing Dragon.... :t
-
any f you guy thought about or currently play Elder Scrolls online? I played more fallout than the Elder scrools game but from what I am hearing ESO is pretty close to the previous single player games.

We must not have been exposed to the same folklore and fairy tales because I thought that's pretty much exactly how all dragons were slain. :o
One thing I don't like about the dragons in skyrim is that they have no treasure. They're dragons! They're supposed to have a hoard of loot. Instead you absorb a dragon soul ooooh. What a bunch touchy feel-good new age crap! And another thing, why for the love of god are there cat people and lizard men player classes? Seriously, cat people? Yet another RPG game that went Jim Henson on us.

You're hearing wrong. Very, VERY wrong.
I tried it in Beta, and from what I understand the release didn't change much. Fixed classes, no sandbox, pretty much everything Elder Scrolls is NOT.

Great game :D

the hero gets eaten when he tries to take on too big a challenge....
and there isnt anything as big and bad as the dragons portrayed in Skyrim....
I cant stand games that make it so easy.....
dont get me wrong Skyrim is great a very fun game...but vanilla Skyrim is boring and very easy....
only the mods make it worth playing to me.
"wars in Skyrim" is another mod that is worth getting...
it is very easy to get and add mods.... :aok

Yeah, I watched the angry joe review on ESO, the very first words of the review were "They done <bleep>ed it up!" lol.

That's true the dragons in skyrim are easy, probably due to the fact that you have to start fighting them at low level in the beginning of the game. But they're way easier than the yetis and giants.

ok I admit it took a lot of time away from my Aces High play time when it first came out :o
-
I liked skyrim, until my first PC Crashed and I lost the game and had to restart, I got psised off and quit playing when I had to run up that damn mountain to talk to the "mountain people"..
-
I was going to play it, but then I took an arrow to the knee.
-
I do use a few mods, mostly Weapons, clothing, hairs, a few followers and Armours from NexusMods.
My favourite is the Merchant mod. Wish I'd had it when I started.

What mods do you guys recommend I use when I play it my first time?
Since you guys are seasoned vets of it and all.. :D
-
There are several types of dragons that are from various strenghts and resistances. I had good times with a two handed barbarian but an archer was ultimately my most fun character. Had to sneak a lot and deliver flamed arrows that send enies fly off bridges on fire. Werewolve was cool, being a vampire was ok despite the power boost from being at night on a lvl 4 hunger.
The samurai armor and sword was really cool.
-
I rage quit and never looked back after someone stole my sweet roll.............
-
You guys are a bunch of milk-drinkers. Yeah I might play ESO.
-
Do the people who work on Skyrim have Skyrim jobs?

:rofl
first you wanna get the "skyrim mod manager"
you dont have to have it, but not using it you need a good working knowledge of your folder system...backing up old files ECT ECT
it is much easier and cleaner using it....and after further inspecting(its been awhile) it is not called skyrim mod manager it is called the "Nexus Mod Manager" or NMM
here is a link
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/?
at the very top of the page you will see "install NMM 0.49" thats what you want
then as you are browsing for mods most you can install with the NMM it will have a button for that...if it dont look for a different mod...
now things you want to remember....
don't get 2 mods that do the same thing....
the least amount of Mods to get what you want works the best and will give you the least amount of issues.
(although I think I had something like 75 mods with no issues except crashing once in awhile)
start out slow
the 2 mods I think are a must is
"Deadly Dragons"
"war Zones-civil unrest."
"Duel Combat realism"
Dawn Guard and Heartfire
plus the "unofficial Patches" for those 2
"Climates of Tamriel"
"Enhanced Blood"
"Sky-test realistic animal & predators"
those few make a huge difference.....
these I was using back when it first came out...not sure if better ones are out(or if they are still about)
whats cool about the NMM is that it will let you know when there is an update to the mod...and if/when there are any conflicts....
conflicts are not a deal breaker the mod loaded last over rides the mod before it,<-----you need to remember that
Do the people who work on Skyrim have Skyrim jobs?
:rofl
no...I create mods just for fun.

Honestly, I think the out-of-the box version is fine for your first time through. After you've logged a few hours, you'll probably have a better idea of what sort of mods you'd like, or better understand what the mods really do.

A few other mods to add in addition to Ink's list.
You want to get "SkyUI", it really improves the older interface and lets you change a bunch of parameters.
Also you'll need the "SKSE" or Skyrim Script Extender, it's not a mod per say but a new launcher that allows Skyrim to use more memory IIRC. The SKSE is needed for many mods to run including some of the ones Ink listed. It's safe and you use it to launch the game instead of steam.
A few more mods I recommend for realism are "Frostfall - Hypothermia & Camping Gear Mod", "Realistic Needs & Diseases", and "Hunterborn".
And as Ink has said you really need to use the NMM, it make's your life so much easier when dealing with cleanup and seeing if there are conflicts. Right now I think I have around 80 mods installed and I rarely have any issues, though you do need to read the descriptions and make sure a mod doesn't conflict with something else. I highly recommend using little to no mods on your first playthru as it'll give you an idea on what you want to install. Just installing a few mods can completely change the game and makes Skyrim highly replayable.
And finally you need to download skimpy armor and sexy skin replacers for Lydia, it's a rite of passage for nerds to roam around Skyrim with Lydia following in her chain-mail bikini. :D

You can all kiss all of this good bye.
Take the elder scrolls and shelf it forever.
Soon, even the fallout's will all be mmorpg's. No player development, nothing unique. Ya want something new? PAY FOR IT. :rock

Yep thieves are the most fun, and the most useful, at least that's been my experience so far.
I'm pretty sure Angry Joe was stoned when that dog came up and started talking to him, that must've been awesome. Man I haven't gotten high in like two years, probably why I hardly play aces high anymore :(

I think an orc sold me some bunk moon sugar. I bought some moon sugar from an orc hanging out on a bridge at night, I ate it but it didn't really do anything, am I doing it wrong? My instincts told me never buy moon sugar from an orc, maybe I should've listened to my own instincts.
-
Um... you're supposed to refine moon sugar into Skooma..
That's probably akin to eating weed.
A buddy of mine built a mod that realistically incorporated weather/hypothermia/health. I sent him this..

As far as that Warhorse thing looks.. pretty graphics.. but how is the gameplay?

Warhorse is the name of the studio, not the game. The game is called Kingdom Come: Deliverance, this is their Kickstarter page.

It's not out yet, they're still in production. Don't know too much about the gameplay, other than there being no magic or other fantasy elements (it's set in Bohemia in 1403, following Sigismund's deposing of Wenceslaus), and the fighting system is being built around the historical fechtbuchen (so no generic fantasy hack-and-slash).
I've been wanting to see that in a game for a LONG time.
