Title: little icon wish
Post by: Latrobe on May 10, 2014, 10:02:50 PM
When cycling through the icon options there's one for turning off enemy icons yet there isn't an option to turn friendly icons off. Could we get this as an option as well??  :)

It would be nice to be able to customize icons so they took up less real estate. I'd like the option to just have a small red dot with no range, type, country icon. Or have the range go away under 1K. I don,t know if its my eyes or brain but I seem to choke when shooting when closing at a high rate and I find myself loosing the plain in the ground clutter and the icon mayhem. Also I came across a beautiful mission upping from a rear base and multiple stacks of red icons make it hard to see the planes

You can change the size of the font for icons. Maybe that would be enough to alleviate some clutter?

When attacking a mission or multiple formations of bombers flying tight, turng off enemy icons makes it a lot easier.  Latrobe wants friendlies off so he can pretend he was granted his "Latrobe vs the world" wish  :D

Can I piggy back that little wish with this one? :)

I'd like an icon setting that shows normal enemy and friendly plane types, but omits the range data.  Having played around with no icons a little in the past I like the effect it has on ACM, not knowing the exact range or rate or rate of closure (maybe keep the "-" or "+" info if the rate of closure is high like it is now).  But the fun was quickly lost when I just couldn't see the enemy, especially during maneuvers.   So I'd like to see a setting that allows for easier tracking but removes the lazer range finder.

Newcomers to AH should benefit from the same training aids you had when you started here.

Dude! I did this years ago by changing the friendly icon colour to the same as the sky.

simple fix, effective.

you know sometimes I just don't understand the some of the wishes people make in the wish list. I guess most of us don't really know what the wishlist is for..to me it's for trying to get new hardware,or changes to veh's,planes, ships. stuff like when changes to the tanks transmissions--and the sights, tank speeds-or like turret speed for wirble/osti..that kind of stuff..if more people would check wishlist history, before they made a wish-there would be less repetitive wishes...such as mirrors and sun glasses, have wish for many times..which have yet been granted...wishes for icon changes to sute a few players. I personally don't have a problem with them..if you search for a wish that has been made before-and wish on it it will bring that wish to the current page.and it can be added to. these are just my thoughts..slam me if you want.. I just think refining our wishes in the wishlist--favor--go back and really study the wishes for the last 3 months--and I mean really look at them hard..esp the vetrens of this game...and see which is more likely to work for a console game than a pc game....I saw a wish for a damageable bridge and dam.. bridge yes  dam no,unless you don't expext flowing water thru broken dam...no fl;owing water pc,able   flowing water  console game...I've seen wishes for land mines---do-able on a console game, yes, but I don't think so on this game, do you see what I'm getting at..alot of the wishes can only work on a console game and not here..but maybe land mines nad flowing water may work here. but it would take more puter and server power..but like I said before maybe it's just me....and if I just hijacked this thread I'm sorry didna mean to...since I'm not sure what constitutes hijacking..bye you can start now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
