Title: Sinking CV
Post by: Xavier on May 11, 2014, 05:07:23 AM
I've recently sunk several CVs that were still stationed at an enemy port, but I was awarded no perks nor dmg for it. Why? Is a CV just "sinkable" once it leaves port? That left me scratching my head... :headscratch:

Are you talking about the boats sitting at the dock of the port?

The ships and subs at the docks in a port are just eye candy and serve no tactical or strategic purpose.

In my opinion, if they are destroyed, they should increase the respawn time of the CV linked to that port by 10 mins or more .

+1  it only makes sense that the condition of assets on the port effect the respawn of the CV.  IE.. how can the CV respawn with ords if ord bunkers are destroyed ?  the CV at the docks should be a representation of the CV getting built or repaired and be susceptible to attack. I think it will add another level of strategy to the game. I guess to be fair, you could add auto ack to that CV also. would make taking a port more difficult too.

If they add guns I think they should do 2 auto ack, and 1-2 mannable guns.  I do NOT think that the 5in should be one of the guns. I think either the quad 40mm (that is on CV) or 20mms would be acceptable.

I think you can land on them though.

I think you can land on them though.
The question is though, will you get a safe landing?  I will have to try...

I think if you make them a strategic target, you have to allow it to protect itself with auto ack and the ships guns that have not been destroyed or have been repaired should be man-able. otherwise, you will have milk runners perk farming them and ports will be un-defendable. BTW. Yes, you can land on them. I have done it a few times just for giggles.
