yeah that was very cool.
-
that was great....owner of the dog should be beaten.
-
Owner of the dog should be thrown of a cliff and the dog shot :old:
-
the Dog could be trained not to do that...that is ALL the owners fault....the dog is 100% faultless.
edit;
thats not to say I would not have broke its neck protecting my kid. :old:

I noticed the dog had no collar so it was likely a stray! No one loves dogs more than I do but I think strays should be put down!
Any dog over about 40 lbs can be a dangerous animal, smaller dogs can do harm but a good football kick usually ends it! Larger dogs can take a human down and if there is more than 1 dog the situation can become very serious and people have been killed.
Pretty cool cat! It deserves an award!

Seen it on the news yesterday, was definitely surprised.

This is such a ridiculous statement. Any dog that has to be trained NOT to attack needs to be put down. You can't always blame owners when dogs bite, some times there are just bad dogs. Take the Pitbull for example..... :aok

if you believe that about the APBT then you are in need of some serious education....
when I said it could be trained to NOT do that....I was meaning it could be broken of that bad behavior.
if it is NOT a stray the owners allowed this type of behavior...probably encouraged it....

I'm with Ink on this one and shares his views on animals (except for snakes because, unless they're behind glass, I want no part of them). In my opinion if the dog had good owners it would probably not be aggressive. I fault the owners or whoever turned this dog out to fend on it's own.
And, for the record, anybody who would turn a domesticated animal out on its own to fend for itself if I saw them would have to deal with me physically. Pit Bulls etc are NOT inherently bad dogs. They have tendencies that their owners need to be aware of and smart about. Sadly a lot of people just want a dog because they are 'cool' and don't do any kind of research or WORK to ensure that accidents do not happen.
In regards to the attack on the video it was horrible and sad. Sad for the pain the child went through immediately and the psychological scars they might have and sad for the dog that nobody took care of it before it became aggressive and / or allowed it to be in a situation where it became aggressive. Now a dog should be put down because some (expletive deleted) didn't handle his or her business.

Your statement reads that pitbulls are dangerous animals and owners need to take caution so "accidents" don't happen. So you pretty much contradicted your own statement of "Pit Bulls etc are NOT inherently bad dogs". Look at the numbers, they don't lie.

No sir you just didn't read carefully. I've kept a pit bull for a friend and she was one of the sweetest dogs I've ever met. She got along well with my three other dogs and my children. So I'm speaking from first hand experience in actually having one for enough time to know what their triggers are.
I know what can and will trigger my Llewellin Setter and I make sure that he is not exposed to those triggers. I know what can and will trigger my Boxer Jack Russel mix and I make sure that she is not exposed to THOSE triggers. If I currently was in possession of a Pit Bull I'd ensure that it was not exposed to triggers that could set it off and / or make damn sure that it couldn't roam freely just like I would any other dog, cat, squirrel, or any other pet I could possibly own.
Let me give you an example.
My neighbor had a brown lab. One of the sweetest and loving dogs you could ever know. She had never shown an aggressive tendency in her life. One fine day he had her in my front yard while we were talking about life it's own self. My mini schnauzer (God rest her soul) came walking up and, for reasons we never figured out, his lab ATTACKED my dog. When we got them apart he was mortified and apologetic. Fortunately my dogs injuries were minor. What did the owner do? Paid for my dogs vet bill and we ensured that they never mixed again. Apparently his dog just did not LIKE my dog. But there's more. He added security to his back yard to make sure that she couldn't get out and never let her near a small dog again. That's being responsible.

damn I would have killed that dog if that was my kid. friggin dog bites suck, I was bitten a bit back by some kinda mutt that weighed around 100 lbs, I kicked it and it kept coming at me til I got a can of wd 40 and sprayed it up the nose and in the eyes, couldnt imagine what it could have done to a kid. vicious dogs should be either trained or killed I have no use for a dog that is vicious :old:

If that was my kid that dog would be dead
^^^Agreed.
If that was my dog, that dog would be dead as well.

Not a pitbull. Soon to be an ex-not a pitbull.
"Local police said the attacking dog, identified as an eight-month-old labrador-chow mix, had been surrendered by its owner's family after the Tuesday afternoon attack.
The dog was in quarantine and was expected to be put down.
Police spokesman Sergeant Joseph Grubbs said the dog's owners, who lived in the same neighbourhood as the boy, said the dog did not like children or bicycles.
Police did not identify the dog's owner by name."

This Border Collie, on the other hand, will survive, as it only dislikes cars

A story to go with the video:

Per the story the dog was not a stray. His owner surrendered him to animal control and he is to be put down.

ANY list of biting/dangerous dogs that DOES NOT include Cocker Spaniel is, well...il-informed of facts.

I believe this list is based on dogs that have actually killed people. A quick google search shows there may have been 1 person killed by a cocker spaniel but that is unverified. I'll take my chances with a spaniel over a pitbull any day of the week.

I found this out today, watching the video it looked like the dog had no collar so IMHO it's a stray or atlarge,it certainly wasnt under it's owners control.
It's good the owners surrendered the dog and are putting it down, they arent responsible enough to own a dog!
I'll refrain from the PB debate, all I'll say is all dogs are the same when they are pups,it's how they are raised that determines wether or not they will be a problem dog! This dog was a chow/lab cross, supposedly, it is a problem because the owners didnt raise it correct!

:rofl
I have met many a "pittbull".....even registered as an "American Pitbull terrier" and duel registered as "American Staffordshire terrier"
the one problem with this is every one of them are 80-90 even 100lb dogs that are so far from the true American Pittbull terrier they are NO longer the same breed...
these are NOT pitbulls...I have owned a real APBT she was 45lbs......
my brother owns a real APBT now she is 55lbs of fat should be 40lbs....
any "pitbull"dog over 60 lbs is NOT an APBT....
it is an American Staffordshire Terrier (or an American Bulldog or a mix of them all).....these dogs come from the APBT but have been bred for the show ring....and as guard dogs....they became much bigger....and lost that love of humans that True APBT had breed into them....they were breed to fight dogs NOT people...they LOVE people more then any dog I have ever seen...that is what a true APBT is.....period dude...I know I have owned and read as much as I could....
the dogs those stats are representing are NOT APBTs.

You list shows that bad dog owners prefer pitbulls.

You can't seriously believe that do you? Sure there are bad owners but there are bad dog owners with every breed of dog. You just don't have the other breeds of dogs killing and maiming people. The list clearly shows a dangerous and defective breed of dog, not owner. I will not post on this subject any further as it has derailed this thread.
Now back to the awesome kitty!
-
Every chumptastic toejam-wit in town used to have a Doberman, yet somehow they don't seem to kill near so many people. Same ingrown owners, very different result.
Kitteh is teh awezum.

Now, if that was a Golden Retriever... it would have been wanting a hug.
Have you ever seen an angry Golden Retriever? I haven't

Yes I have,I've seen a golden that liked to bite kids in the face and had to be put down,of course this was a result of the owner encouraging aggressive behaviour!
The most dangerous dog I ever owned was a 7lb poodle,ya laugh if you will but he could and would put a hurt on anything that came into his territory! This was a result of his owner encouraging this behaviour,ya I was young and stupid but I thought an attack trained toy poodle would be a cool thing to have and he was but he also had to be put down because he was just too aggressive and would bite anyone who came into the house.
By nature poodles arent aggressive but any dog can be made to be a dangerous animal and pits are no exception and because of the type of dog they are the idiots who feel the need to have the baddest dog on the block tend to gravitate to them.
I'm more afraid of all the mastifs that are being owned because of PB bans, those dogs make PB look like poodles and they were bred to be human aggressive.

Your list disagrees.
