What color did you use for the text underneath? I mentioned this before in the other P-40 thread, but after doing some digging around it sounds like by the wartime period it was actually the same color blue as the roundel (ANA605 Insignia Blue). It looks black in the pic.

I like it! :aok

LOVE IT!!!! :x
Thank You Sir! :salute

Can you find where you saw this? It's very difficult to distinguish black from insignia blue on the undersides.

It's part of Spec 98-24105-P, information available here:
http://librarum.org/book/31199/37
"Their markings were to conform to Spec 98-24105-P and amendments, except that the marking 'U.S. Army' on the under surface of the wing was to be applied with blue, Shade 47 of Bulletin No. 41. All other exterior markings were to be applied with either red, black or blue, Shades 45, 44 and 47 of Bulletin No. 41."
Shade 47 is the same as ANA605 Insignia Blue per Bulletin No. 157.

Yeah, I'm confused here too. What's so funny? He provided some good documentation on the regulations, and I thanked him for it.

Another month without this skin. :cry
-
You'll have a happy Octoberfest. I promise.

that skin looks familiar i could have sworn i've seen it before on an old ah p40e a decade ago. :)
nice work too. glad people are moving away from tank rivets slowly. less you make the panels and rivets visible and the more you add panel deformation and stress to the texture map to simulate thin aluminum skin of a plane the more realism it will have.

Very nice Devil :aok
