Title: Vehicle supplies
Post by: Chris79 on May 20, 2014, 03:21:57 PM
IMO vehicle supplies should only pertain to ammo not damage. I can not repair a damaged plane on the rearm pad, so I don't see how an m3 jeep or c47 can repair a turret or engine for a GV instantaneously in the field

This is a valid reason. Prepare for the GV flaming!

They should be able to repair you, but not for at least 30 secs. Or, add recovery GVs to repair damaged GVs.

So a storch should be able to cripple a Tiger II by damaging the track, and the Tiger should just have to take a loss of 100 perks because someone thought GV's shouldn't get gameplay concessions?

I guess you won't mind us removing your icons, darbar, radar, allowing your runways to be cratered (and made inoperable) by a few 100lb bombs, and forcing you to take 100% fuel either.

i'll remember that the next time you get turreted or tracked-or flipped by a branch--it will take me 5 minutes to get to you,but you will have to wait 30 more sec's before you can repair-sorry

In-field repair involve exposing crewmembers and it takes long time, the guys advocating supply-auto-instant-repair are favouring fly-by-repairs and re-ammo of aircraft also ?

Not the same. An aircraft on the rearm pad isn't within gunnery range usually, has protective auto ack, and can land without penalty should he be in danger.

If you want to add a timer, but let GV's land safely any time during the repair, that's fine.

Wouldn't mind a 5-10 second repair time so that the selfsame Wirbelwind that I turretted on the inbound portion of my pass can't shoot me down on the egress portion of my pass.  I've had that happen.

EDIT:

It occurs to me that there is a better way to accomplish my request.   I am not looking to punish the guys who've been waiting five minutes for supplies.  I am trying to affect the guys who have GV supplies predropped.  So rather than a repair time when using GV supplies there could be a timer for GV damage,  something like a 30 second period, starting the moment the damage happens, wherever he the damage is kept applied even if a GV supply is used. This would have ne effect on the guy waiting five minutes, but would affect the guy with GV supplies predropped.

wrongggggg---have you never been vulched by enemy aircraft-while on runway????----or when enemy gv's make it to the bases/runways and shoot at planes while on the ground------enemy planes when attacking airfields takeout radar first--field guns 2nd,planes third--but sometimes guns and planes at same time..

No, I've never been killed while rearming, which is the relevant part. For you see, I make use of the fact that I'm on concrete while rearming, and land if I detect danger. An option GV's don't have.

If you're vulched while on approach or take-off (regardless of if it's an aircraft or GV that shoots you), it's the equivalent of being camped or shot in the butt while RTB'ing.
