It's fake.

Had it been real, the monkey would have had 10 of them sucker-punching-from-behind and running until they finally got him down. And then 50 would gathered around with boards and bats... just to even the odds, ya know?

In the end, the monkey would be beaten half-conscious, have a car tire thrown on him, be doused in gas and set on fire.
