The village farm tile this is just average clutter in tiles non destructible
In all shots for testing I was about 100 FPS.

Idk if I have been playing too much of other games but it seems like a step back compared to what we saw before. The first picture really looks "eh" to me, the lighting is way off I think.
-
Great. ..I likee
-
That looks great. Are you adding water? Ponds, lakes, and rivers?
-
Wow a 100 FPS on that antique machine you coad on! I have almost the same machine, different vidcard but pretty much everything else is the same and I retired it almost 4 years ago...... :devil
It's sounding like the new engine will run smoother and be easier to run on most computers! :aok
:salute
PS: the art work is a huge step up,keep at it!
-
Nice! I want to go to there. :aok
-
Looks better than my Friday dump, will these villages be near spawn points for gvs often, or are they going to be fairly scarce? I know on custom maps they will be all over the place.
-
Could you imagine if they decided to add true artillery into AH? Setup inside these villages to shell a town/base. GV's covering the ways in/out of the town. Of course, ords would need a porkin first but I think ye get the gest. :x
-
Now that's what I'm talkin' 'bout :aok
-
Looks great! It will definately entice me out of the tower so the ENY hit my side takes'll be warranted. ;) (J/K I appreciate your hard work.)
-
He said "dump".
Looks nice :aok
I would love to see farm fields with, hmm let's see. Corn, tomatoes, etc.
So we can run through, destroying the farmer's crops.
Maybe have an old hag chasing vehicle with a broom :rofl
And Sheep, of course :aok
 Oz

That 3rd pic reminds me of screenshots from Microprose's B-17 - II, looks great. However, I remember being very disappointed to find that the trees were just painted on the terrain tile in B-17 - II. No such disappointment with AH2.
Question: Will the new engine be able to handle vertical cliff faces along coast lines?
-
Remind me again because I'm an idiot, HTC uses an NVidia 9500 for testing right?
-
WTFG Hitech ! Me like!! Thank you sir :rock
-
Looks great, I can't wait to see it all come together.
-
I think some of you guys should install air warrior just to compare and see how far we've come.

My memory still works (and I loved AW).. :D

IIRC it's a 9800GTX+
-
Now that's just gorgeous...any estimates on when the new terrain will be ready?
Two weeks? :P

Definitely looking promising. First IN to note the difference in grass textures near buildings. Before the grass looked like mine, overgrown from playing too much AH.
Please, Nathan no pics of your Friday's Dump.
Olds, these are some low detail screen shots, you wouldn't really notice them that much at all flying around. This much detail for something barely noticeable in game is huge, especially considering the lack of big framerate hits. Zooming in at close range and seeing that vegetation coming to life swaying with the breeze certainly rocks the cradle for me. :rock
Only one suggestion (hate to even mention at this late point in development) add some conifers / evergreens, those needle leaves would blend very nicely at lower details becoming very wispy (almost can hear artist dude...."I think a tree lives......right ............. there!").

I have warbirds 2.77 on my computer and that is archaic.

Looks great!

I like the effort of putting trees around fields and roads like in Europe :aok
-
That's beautiful.
HiTech, any chance you can give us a rough estimate of time window of release?

:O nuthah wish granted :rock

Thank you for the update. It is nice to see the work you are putting into the game. I am looking forward to seeing the changes implemented.

hitech: you're going to do beta testing period still, right ?

And for all of us who have the same computers that sent Apollo 13 to the moon, how nasty will the system requirements be?

Nice! I want to go to there. :aok
Nice! I want to go there, too... to rape and pillage and shoot the place up.
BTW, I still want a persistent battlefield - with downed aircraft, corpses, burning hulks, evvathang...

You may see improvement. In any case it shouldn't be worse according to what's been posted so far as long as your video chip supports shader model 3.
