Title: Aircraft Sounds
Post by: PJ_Godzilla on May 28, 2014, 09:26:46 AM
I'm just curious: when you hear the engines of the various aircraft in AH, are the engine sounds based on anything IRL?

For example, I'm certain a Merlin has a different sound at 2500 rpm than would a DB605. Likewise, I'm pretty certain a normally aspirated Allison is going to sound a lot different than a supercharged one.

Does anyone know? My own impression: they all sound alike.

You have to install one of the custom sound packs. They have awesome sounds.  :rock

I have Twinbooms sound pack. Considering his name you can guess he provided extra love to the P-38. In general the sounds of various birds, such as my beloved Fw-190 is great! I have to admit, the best sound in my game (custom sound pack) is whenever I get near a 38. I imagine that to have the most realistic sound in the entire pack.

I would sort through them.

Okay, that's the answer I sought. I found the place here in the forum for the downloads.

I look forward to trying this out.
