As many here have seen, Our family has a cool photo of my Grandfather in France during the War.

A few years after he passed away in 2001, My Uncle Dave sent this photo to the paper for the "look back in time" section. It made the paper and ever since it has me longing to find out more about my grandfathers division and regiment and where they fought. We have his Division book and this picture that's it. He rarely spoke about the war and when he did it was then too late as he was fading. We knew that he was wounded in the Ardennes and was sent home.
Well flash forward to yesterday and I re-visit the 80th ID website... 80thdivision.com and start looking around again. It had been some since I had been there, and it looks it had been updated with new info and some photo albums and then I see this album

In that album, I find THE photo!

We have now identified at least one man, Master Sargent Eugene Killen and now we know the first names of most of the men, although some are cut off (it looks like Dale and Larry to me).
I also don't think the location is correct, I don't think it's Millery (which is Southern France near Geneva Switzerland), I actually believe it's Mailly (Which is closer to Luxembourg and Belgium).
I think this is Nov 1944 and less than a month from the Battle of the Bulge and where he was subsequently wounded. I think this is his gun crew, from his 105mm howitzer.
What are the odds that this photo, from two different sources, 70 years old, and I find it! I am going to write the website and 80th Div crew and ask that my grandfathers name be listed in the caption. I will update here when I get it done! <S>

I came across an old photo containing my great-uncle. His B-24, Dogpatch Raiders, flew the low level Ploesti mission 1 Aug 43 and was in the second wave of planes that came over the target behind their Commander Addison Baker that day. After his B-24 took a few enemy hits my great-uncle flew the plane back home with shot-up control cables wrapped around his wrists, he was one of the gunners.
