Kodiak requested a skin by the 31^st FG for the P-51B, but the specific skin that was requested wasn't going to work. I couldn't find an actual photo of the aircraft, and the color profile lacked enough detail to work off of. I suggested this skin as a substitute. He has already started looking into another skin from the 31^st but since I had already started this one I figured I would go ahead and finish it.

This skin was part of the 31^st FG 335^th FS. The pilot was forced to bail out 14km west of Epernay, France due to engine failure on May 9^th 1944. The pilot bailed and became a POW.

I didn't realize you were going to finish this one...it looks great!  :aok

P.S. Now that you've got a P-51B template maybe someday you could do the green one in my other post also :pray

I think you need to check the history of that aircraft.

The FS in the 31st were the 307th, 308th and 309th.

Betty Jane was flown by the Group Commander, Col Charles McCorkle.
