Harrison Ford was airlifted to hospital today after being crushed while filming Star Wars.
The actor, 71, slumped to the floor after being crushed by the hydraulic door of his legendary Star Wars spaceship, a source revealed.
Daredevil Ford was last night recovering in hospital with a suspected broken ankle.
As he was being treated movie bosses began hurriedly rescheduling shoots to take into account what could be a long absence for the veteran star.
The source said: “Harrison was hit by the door and looked in a bad way and was clutching his chest when he was on the stretcher.
Ford was crushed by the door as he began shooting scenes for Star Wars: Episode VII at Pinewood studios in Buckinghamshire.
Reports claimed the door belonged to the Millennium Falcon, the spaceship his character Han Solo flies in the original trilogy of the sci-fi movie.
He was assessed by medics on set before an air ambulance was called. Ford, who is married to actress Calista Flockhart, 49, was taken to the John Radcliffe hospital in Oxford, which has a trauma unit with specialist fracture clinics.

Just freeze it in carbonite. He'll be fine.
Failing that, someone might want to put in a call to Billy Dee Williams.

Well, the Millenium Falcon is supposed to be prone to failure afterall.

Broken ankle doesnt heal in a matter of days. It'll take weeks or months. The chest clinching is of course worrying.

I torn a ligament on my ankle 2 months ago. trust me, he's better off with a broken ankle. I am looking at another 3 or 4 months before I can heal. broken ankle 2 months 3 at his age. either way I feel his pain, literally.

**NERD ALERT**
It was "18 parsecs" not "12". Furthermore, parsec is an astronomical measurement of distance, not time/speed so he could still make it in 18 parsecs.

Better get that alert recalibrated, because 12 is correct.

Yes, but the Kessel Run is through a black hole cluster, which requires a lot of speed to escape the gravity wells. Slower ships have to take a longer and more circuitous route. The Falcon is fast enough to fly closer to the black holes, enabling her to cut distance off the run. So even though the Kessel Run isn't measured by velocity, speed is still the most important consideration.

Ah now that finally makes sence, Doing the Kessell run in 12 parsecs instead of 13 or higher means he was fast enough to take a straighter line near the black holes.

Correct. The Falcon can fly a much more direct route because of her stop speed.

Looks to me like they kinda went overboard with his cast.

But that face mask took at least 20 years off his face.
