Lets note, my experiences playing this game are not the same as other players and I do not implicate the their actions. And I will be getting more and more intoxicated as I write this.
I have been playing this game since 2014 when I was 14
I have always been into flying since the age of 2, my father use make cardboard box cutouts of cockpits even designed the cockpit for the Osprey. My grandfather flew 76 missions in ww2 and korea in b26s as a tail gunner. Uncle flew airshows in AT-6s after he was drafted to the army in Vietnam. He showed me this game when i went to visit him, thought it was the coolest thing ever.
I played Microsoft flight simulator from 5 to 10 and then played Combat flight simulator.. Lets just say I thought I was gonna kick your as$$ since day one..
Well, gee was I wrong....
Ya know this game is hard. It has a community where you actually get to know/fight members over and over again. (not like BF/halo where you fight online players in one match you never met nor talk to)
It is hard because you actually have to learn how to fly the planes.
Every single plane in this game has an advantage and a weakness.
Air Combat Maneuvers really do take precedent over the outcome of fights. Even when you think your "better turning" plane should have "out turned" theirs.
I flew the 190D when I first started the MA in 2005
I'll tell ya what, I flew H2H for about 6 months before I joined the MA. The MA was a huge world and I had no idea what to do haha.
The 190D pretty much was zoom plane to find fights. (in H2H you only had to fly half sectors to fights) so flying 1 to 1 1/2 sectors seemed far.
I began going to the DA (where you had to check 6 for a fight) I didn't know how to "check 6" at first so a lot of people got mad at me for interrupting their fights. I'm telling ya, even when I thought I was good in H2H, I got destroyed by the "real" best if you will.
It was obvious I didn't know very much about the mechanics of flying and "ACM"
The first squad who generously invited me was the 367th Dynamite Gang. Cooley, man, Cooley. Dude showed me how to dive bomb, run bombers.... but most importantly, he showed me literally the 2 best maneuvers in ACM. I will always admire him for that.
Now I played for score I'll tell ya. The key to score is about understanding how the "score" works. I'll put it to you this way, bombing a city strat will drop your bomber score faster than taking out a couple of fighter hangers, In attack mode pay more attention jabo and your ord damage rather than kills. It depends on your motives,,,,,,,, Oh and every sortie "counts". There is a lot to it I wont explain now.
I one time figured out how to get under 100 rank in 3 days,, (during the middle of the month,,, athank you),,, I was a bored teenager. It is probably easier today.
I disregard bombers and hate vehicles....
hey it's not my fun factor anymore.
I have learned so much about ACM. I didn't even play between 2009 -2013. However, upon returning It felt like I never left, though I am still not as good nor have enough practice as I use to have before college.
This game takes a lot of time to learn, a lot of practice, and a lot getting your prettythang kicked,,, I think the one thing that keeps us players here is the passion for air combat.
The community is a tough crowd..... get use to it. You will make your own friends... It is nice to have enemies in AH,
One of my biggest accomplishments in AH was joining the Muppets in 2007... Thanks to skyrock. You my boy blue!
I have never met any of these F++ks in my life.. but ya know what, Every single one of us have experienced a since of spiritual friendship. And all these guys/gals are not only the best, but also extraordinary people.. while kicking your prettythang in in the MA/DA, you already know.
It is crazy to think that most of us been flying together for 9 or more years.
As far as fighter combat goes. I think this is the best flight combat sim out there. I think realization factor is top notch... it really is the hardest, it truly does capture what you would imagine combat to be like... like I said before every plane has an advantage and a disadvantage,,,ou
you must learn to keep "E" and learn "angles" these are flying patterns, they are terms you will develop over time. You will have no idea what they mean but you will understand... one day.
You must fly all the planes.
Do Not Play To Live,,, It's fun to tango....... chances are the people you fight in the MA are NooBs! Seriously, just fight it out,,
there is no since in running away from a fight... I mean come on,,, unless you have no ammo or gas,,, then sure,,,,, or if there are 3+ cons behind you.. then yeahhh goo..
but for the experienced I'd recommend turning to fight the 2 on 1 ...for practice. You could kill them both.... they might beat you but its goood for SA
OHHHHHHHHHHH SITUATIONAL AWARENESSSSSSSSSSSSSS........ .. ...........//////.../../////////////////////////.................///./////...//.../../././////..,,,,,,,...,,.,./////..,.,..,,/.,./,/,./,..,./,.,..,. SA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Look around all over the place.,.. make sure you can place yourself in a position to counter attack if they dive on you...
Defensive to offensive tactics.... use black outs to your advantage if a plane is diving on you.
Avoiding the HO and setting up an angle will put you in a better position to make the kill without taking the risk. Plus you will automatically gain their 6.
Don't fall for the rope!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
you are going to though,,, HAHAH!! I get you every time... foreal, you wont be able to rope until you truly understand E
Learn to fly all the planes...... Learn to fly all the planes
it will allow you to learn their weakness
I am pretty drunk now....... time to start actually playing the game... I'll capitalize on this a bit later.. I didn't re-read this and I know my grammar sucks,,, so mess off.

This is the best thing you can ever do to improve your flying. Instead of running away until you're clear or can take 1 of them on 1v1, turn in to engage both of them. Learn how to fight in a 2v1 situation. Kill both of them! Don't let those darn greenies have the kills! These are YOUR kills!! :devil Eventually you'll get really good at fighting 2v1's. Next step is to take on 3v1's! Then 4v1's and 5v1's, etc etc! There is NO better practice than fighting slightly more than you can handle and pushing your limits!
This game really is at the top of flight sims out there today, and the people who play this game are some very awesome people! I'm really hoping the new terrain update and some heavy advertising will really get this game going and increase the numbers back to what they used to be, or more!

I have been playing this game since 2014 when I was 14
Well I first drank in the summer of the year before I started High School. So I was 14yo too. This was, like, 1972 and it was a different world back then. I drank a gallon jug of Annie Green Springs wine and puked up all over my shoes.
So....who am I to judge your post?

I think that was a misstatement on Viol's part. He started a while ago when he was 14, probably '07 I'd guess.

If you actually read his post it is pretty clear he started playing in 2004, not 2014. It's a typo. He's 24 and legally drunk!

Inasmuch as it is still 2014. This also makes him 15 at best.

Oh no question. The post rocked.

I'm scarred forever by Drunko the Muppet

Haha ty Triton and rich49yo
I wanted to post this because I want some of the newer guys to read it.
It really is a tough game to learn and takes years to fully understand everything this game offers, to understand the community, and to realize that everyone is not nice and fighting words will prevail.
It's sandbox game and it is not always fair.
I recommend reading all you can about ACM and take the time to learn how to deul.
Dueling really does help you to learn E judgement and what planes are capable of. I use dueling tactics every single time I engage or get engaged.
Latrobe will kill you. But you should fight him, its good for experience.

I fight latrobe and crabby repeatedly and all I lean is that I need a faster plane so I can extend lol

Now there's an idea! All we need is to get HTC to model some spruce and balsa trees, then cut them down! Might need a few birch trees also! I dont recall seeing any of these modeled...... :devil
