Is artillery even still useful on the 'modern' battlefield?  We aren't fighting massed concentrations of enemy troops, it's individuals and small squads planting IEDs and driving technicals.

It is when you can dial in a GPS and the Howitzer can drop a shell, from 25 miles away, with a CEP of 5 meters. Most of all when that shell is going to kill or maim everything within a 330' circle of where it hits. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DPuIF4QInd8

Or when you fire a shell that is able to seek and destroy vehicles on its own. Or a shell which will ride a laser into its target.
