And found this gem tucked away in a corner. I want it really bad, it's in rough shape and most likely not worth the $145 they were asking for, but I still want it.
But first I need to find out what it is... can someone help with that?

A control panel from an M42 Duster? It's the only US vehicle I know of that has 40mm and 7.62mm armament.
-
I don't think the duster had a coax mg. Maybe a helicopter gunship? Chinook and huey gunships were equipped with 40mm.

Can you post a close up of the metal ID tag just to the left of the analog meter? That might tell us a lot.
** I'm guessing this is Vietnam Nam era and the "40mm" might be an M129 grenade launcher. This is probably from a gunship. **

I may be wrong but now that I think about it didn't early cobras have a combination 40mm 7.62 minigun turret.

Sadly, I can't. It's an hour and a half drive away from where I live and gas is expensive. I'll see what I can do but don't get too optimistic. I know the photo is low quality anyway, not having a camera I had to make due with a cell phone camera.

Yeah they did. I was thinking the same thing, but that panel looks a bit big for the gunner's cockpit. Starting to wonder if that isn't a training or possible a development or testing panel.
