So I got a small issue with my car. The air conditioner works great and it's nice and cold, yet all of my vents for the airflow spin but two. I have 6 and 4 of them spin when the air gets turned on. Should I just take them out or can they be fixed relatively easily? If it takes more than 6 steps to fix it i'll just throw them out, it doesn't bother me if the air isn't directed anywhere specific.
It's nothing too serious but it is very distracting to hear the constant "whishshshshshshshshshshshshsh" from 4 different directions as i'm driving.

Do you mean the vents actually are spinning in their sockets? I've never seen that happen! What kind of car is it?

Methinks the kid should stop smoking dope and driving. :devil

I have a video of it, the vents are actually spinning in the car. :lol
It's a 01 Pontiac Grand Prix.

Looks like the vents are part of the cluster trim and you would have to replace as an assembly.

Spinning as in an old Paddlewheel Steamer??
:rofl
-
might look stupid but what is stopping you from wedging some cardboard in between the vent and the outer plastic molding the vent is attached to? cheap and easy fix until you figure out something better.
-
and nobody has suggested duct tape or bailing wire yet?

Grand Am/ grand prix. knew it from the complaint. You need to replace the vent outlet itself. If I remember correctly, they pop in and out with spring clips. Easy fix.

Wait, you can get spinners for rims but now you can get them for vents also? Are they gold or silver plated?

The car already looks bad enough from the outside as is. I'd rather have the interior look somewhat ok.
As of 9:30 this night, there are no longer vents in that car.

A Grand Prix? Um, feh. I've heard too many complaints about em. Grand Am on the other hand, not so much. But for me, I'll keep my G6. :)

A little dab of Crazy Glue would have stopped them from spinning.

If it is an assembly, try this used auto parts lookup website:
http://car-part.com/ (http://car-part.com/)
Also, give ebay a try. Over the last 5-years I have bought about 80% of my auto replacement parts from here. It just works and shows up in your mailbox in a few days. Some parts were not stocked in my area, my car is a 1998.
