Tonight, in the ma, after a long chase and some tough flying, I killed a 109g-14. I got a pm from the dude. He claims I need to " fix my Internet", because I was " all over the place". Now, I never saw frame rates, during the whole thing, of less than 38 and never saw "stagy" views that would indicate I was warping, nor have I ever had anyone request this of me. My connection is a broadband one and appears to work very well. The. 109 wasn't warping in my view either.
So how to explain this..? Was it just a case of butt hurt or is it possible to warp undetectably? Or, is it possible that his own rate was poor and I couldn't see it on my end? I'm no Internet comms expert and genuinely don't know the. Rules of that game.

If he wasn''warping on your end then chances are it was his connection that was bad
Edit
On second thought, he would have been warping to you if his connection was bad. Im leaning toward butthurt :D

My ping times were jumping all over the place last night.
MS was sending out a big update and that chokes the internet at times seems like.

Yep,
ping times for a lot of people playing last night were jumping from like 30 upwards of 200+ last night
lots of reports of people last night receiving the "losing udp, connecting to tcp" message last night as well......
I received that message 2 or 3 times myself and got discoed ( dumped via "Host Connection Lost" )
in which, I rarely if ever have any connect issues with any of the arenas/servers.......
hope this helps

If you see everyone else warping, then it's probably you. If you only see one guy warping, then it's probably him. In either case, you can open the clipboard and look at the Net Stat screen. If it's a flat line, you're fine; if it's a saw-tooth line, your connection is having issues and it's you that's warping.

If you see only one guy warping check if his nickname is Jean Luc Picard. If yes, he has the technology for it!

Okay - that's two good answers and one good smart-aced answer... all of which were useful, albeit for different purposes. Thanks for the info and chuckle.

When I had a Wifi rather than hardwired connection, I got warps I myself could not see on screen while in close maneuvering.

Wifi increases ping-time and is not recommended for any type of real time gaming.
