Title: Key controls not holding
Post by: Flossy on July 11, 2014, 11:43:58 AM
I normally use my joystick buttons for Tuned channel & Range channel vox, which works well.  However there are times when I want to use the keyboard but it seems that whatever keys I use, they work fine at first but do not work after relogging and need to be set up again.  As far as I am aware, all other key commands continue to work OK, it's only the vox channels I am noticing a problem with.  Is this a known problem or unique to my setup?    :headscratch:

Are you using T and F12 ?

What do the keys show for assignment after relogging?

I'm actually using F12 and F11 (I don't use padlock so unbound it from that).  After relogging, the keys still show as assigned in the key mapping but they no longer work.  I need to unassign and reassign them to get them to work again.  Hope that makes sense!

Seems I can reset the keys by going to key mapping and clicking OK without actually doing anything and they work again......  <shrug>

You shouldn't have to do that. Do the commands show up correctly on your global.kmp file in settings?

MIC_CHANNEL,KEY_F12

You could try "set key" to reset the key value for F11 and F12. I'm just guessing now.  :lol
Hopefully Skuzzy will have an alternative to redoing your settings folder.

At the moment just clicking OK in the key controls panel every time I log into the game seems to be working so I can live with that for now.  :)

Flossy, doe your computer have any stick management software installed?  Or perhaps some keyboard utility software?  If your keyboard wireless?  Bluetooth?

Hi Skuzzy

I am using a fairly new PC, only a couple of months old.  It does have a wireless keyboard but I don't have any problems using it normally in the game.  All other keys appear to work fine after relogging and only the two I use for voice keep needing to be reset.  It doesn't seem to matter what keys are set to voice, the results are the same.  I will try doing some tests with a wired keyboard and see if that makes any difference.  Thanks.  :)

There are bluetooth drivers in the field, which do interfere with the game.  It is as though they change the ID of the keyboard, from time to time, which could cause the game to lose track of what keyboard is attached to the game.

Just tried a wired keyboard with the same results.  Never mind, it's not too much hassle to reset them by clicking OK in the key mapping section.  Thanks anyway.  :)   :salute

Yes by default.  I never change where it goes.  :)

No, I use the in-game programming for my Warthog; however, it's not that that I am having the problem with.  I wanted to use the key commands for vox as well as the keys on the Warthog so that I can program my wireless headset's keys to talk while afk for instance.  :)

I was curious if something else could be sending a key press code.
