Thanks to Lyric1 for supplying the info for this skin. There is a photo of this tank here (http://planetarmor.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6241).
This is a Panzer IV Ausf F2 of III/Pz.Abt.204. This unit was attached the 22nd Panzer Division in southern Russia in 1942. In November that year the 22nd was virtually wiped out during the Soviet counteroffensive that encircled Stalingrad.
During the early advance through Russia German tank crews found their dark grey camo scheme didn't work well on the brown Russian steppe terrain and often added ad hoc camouflage to their tanks using brown paint or even mud. Because of this in 1943 the German army changed their vehicles' base paint colour to dark yellow.

AD Hoc camo works, When my unit got to Iraq in 03 we mixed water and sand to coat our woodland camo Humvees . It lasted a surprisingly long time.
