Thanks to Vraciu for finding the photo this skin.

This aircraft from VF-24 was based on Kwajelein Atoll in the Marshall Islands during 1944. It was flown on combat missions against the Japanese by Charles Lindbergh, the famous transatlantic flight pioneer. At this time he was was acting as a technical representative to the Vought Corporation. Lindbergh flew 50 such combat missions with various squadrons as a civilian rep during the war, straffing enemy targets and shooting down an enemy aircraft. He then wrote combat reports on his experiences which were read by Vought's engineers. He also advised pilots on how to take off with overloaded aircraft and get the best fuel mileage from their aircraft.

Lindbergh was denied a direct role in the military as a result of his pre-war involvement in the America First movement. He opposed the Roosevelt administration's pro-British stance and wanted to keep America out of the war, at one point resigning his reserve commission as a Colonel in protest. When war was declared he was refused a new commission by direct orders from the US government and so worked with the aircraft industry instead.

Holy Cow this looks good.

 I was wondering though, are there any more Coral dust weather 1 and 1A skins that have not been attempted yet? I'm very much in love with those.

True.

Ike restored Lindy's commission.   He retired as a Brigadier General and was actually on the commission that selected the site of the US Air Force Academy.  He was no youngster and the dogfight he had with the Sonia was apparently a protracted affair for a bit.    Kinda like it is in the MA 1v1 against the turny burny Japanese planes, come to think of it.
