I have a 5.1 surround recon sound card.
Is there much differnece in 7.1 to 5.1 in game?
-
The two additional channels would provide minimal ambient sound.
-
zach not in a headset. I dont think there's a difference. at least I couldnt hear it.

Mic is good, i have read something about it being poo, when i listen to myself i still sound daft as ever :)
On a side note it vibrates when taking off and when loud noises happen.
Sound direction are better than G35.
External sound Sliders are good as well

Only if you have 7.1 ears.
-
well, I went and bought the kave and then I remember why I returned the first one I bought. when there's no sound there's a hiss every once in a while and it's annoying.
however they're great.

Do you have the mic setting on so you can hear you voice?.
That causes hiss on my headphones, why you need to listen to you own voice is not required.
I have no hiss :old:
They shake when you fire guns :)

no, I dont like to hear my voice. the connections are not very well insulated. I just remember that from the reviews from 2 years ago. but other than that it's a great headset. specially like the way it vibrates when there's a loud bass. sound.
look up "thanks smokey" on youtube. and you will be amazed.

Duct tape, the redneck fix all should straiten you right out! Put the head set on, have the wife wrap the tape around a couple times and your good to go! :devil

actually use electrical tape better.

Totally out of the box: Make/get yourself a pilot's helmet! For credibility out of leather, for summertime comfort out of cotton mesh. In the meantime out of some nice fabric. As you know, they didn't have actual headsets in the planes, the earphones were in sort of pockets in the helmet.

I showed this to the wife and she said I was enough of a geek there's no way she's making one of those!!! Besides where exactly does the TIR go on that setup? In the middle of the goggles?? :rofl

Well... :rofl :rofl :rofl
Sorry, had to gather myself a while... Google for a pilot's helmet (https://www.google.com/search?q=pilot%27s+helmet&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=UpzzU4-iJouaygPg44HgBA&ved=0CAgQ_AUoAQ&biw=2560&bih=1439#q=ww2+pilot%27s+helmet&tbm=isch) more of her likings. As for the TIR, use your imagination. I don't actually know the current attaching system, but as you said, the goggles could be one solution. Or you can simply sew them in just as the earphones. Maybe an antenna like Tinky Winky has would provide a suitable TIR platform?
