Thanks to Goaly and Fencer for bringing this scheme to my attention. There are photos of this and other similarly painted Hellcats here (http://www.warbirdinformationexchange.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=53664&start=30#p534131).

This Hellcat was part of part of VF-38 based on Green Island in the South Pacific during 1944. It features some unusual white ID markings on the cowling, rear fuselage and tail surfaces.

Very nice.  Well done, not only a sweet looking skin it is certainly a bit different than any other F6F skin in AH.   :salute
