Can't believe it - just lost another 262 in a CDT - at 20k - was just forming up with some squaddies, no enemies near... connection rock solid - no host lost message!!!
Been flying without prob for 2.5 hours - just as I take up my fav. jet - poof 200 perkies gone - 15 perkies left! GREAT!!!!
We need a better system for the loss of perks. Like I said before:
If kill recorded. (e.g. killed, alt-f4ed when enemy near, crash when enemy near) --> perks gone
If CDT, disco or whatever without any ENEMY near: no kill recorded --> no perks drawn, or at least only a fraction!!!
I am damned...

Was the disco your ISP, or was it at the HTC server, or somewhere inbetween?
-
Just think of HTC as a drug dealer that sometimes goes bad (262 wise)
-
If there was no penalty for disco "deaths", then we'd see 262's go shwoopenhausen blowing all their ammo on the way through a furball followed by them poofing out of virtual existence on the far side.
That cure is worse than the disease

He's talking about a "CTD" (Crash To Desktop) which can happen with 1.08 p.2 just by hitting "Roster" while in flight (not everytime, but it can happen).

<points at Kirin> LOL! hahahahahahaha :p
-
It's just a simulation of the historical reliability of the Me 262 engines. Every few hours it goes BOOM. :)
Sorry you lost your perkies though. :(

LOL Funked, funny.
At least for me Kirin :p.

<--- Has 201 perkies again... for the next 12 hours... will be back to 10 or so verry soon :)

I feel your pain. Something shall be done, because 200 is too many to be lost in such a stupid way.
I am sure system perk shall be revised, or 262 price shall be dropped, lets say, to 140. At least it will be less pain with losing perks.
I personally suggest it being this way:
If no pinged, more than 25% of fuel, no enemy closer than 5k -- then DTD or disco cost you 25% of plane perk value. (Those 3 cover most usual reasons for artificual disconnects: dammaged, not enough fuel to get home, or fast closing enemy).
If pinged, but not dammaged (no red line in dammage list), no enemy closer than 3k, 15% of fuel -- 50% of perks.
If dammaged, less fuel that 15%, closer enemy than 3k, -- 100% of perks.
This system is reasonable, should not be hard to code, and probably do not has a big gaps. Still you can lose 100% of perks while in disco, but at least it would not be so frustrating as it is now.

If i couldt,Kirin,,i wouldt give you my perks
,never use them anyway ;) enough for two 262
rides ;).

Still got 2700 perkies left. Expect they'll last til Friday afternoon :D.
262 is cool :)
not sure how to get around the disco problem though :/
-
Voss is right - CTD --> no connection issue whatsoever! 1.08 seems to be prone to CDT - nevery had em (as far as I remember) before... :(
eagl: Can't see your point - if a 262 blows through a furball guns blazing and after that egresses beyond 5k nothing could catch it anyway...
I like Fariz' idea - still harsh but much fairer than the system we got right now!
Funked Up: :P Well, so I would like the same failure/jam rate for your Hispanos!!! :) And Nikis engine of course...
dawvgrid: Hey HT - hear that? Small transaction - isn't it??? I NEEEEEEEED my drug!!!
Santa: Go away! ;)
conclusion: 2 262s lost to CTD, 1 lost to disco, 1 lost to killshooter, 1 to collision...
3 1/2 : 1 1/2
not my fault : my fault
Darn - give us Emil with ENY 50 rating so I can mass perkies... :D

I lost a 262 to a hard lock up....
Third time I flew one- I gave up with flying it, I'll stick to the F4U-1...
Only time I've had a hard lock up- I think those things are prone to give you the fits.
Just stay out of 'em if you don't want to lose your perk points for right now...
