Bad idea imo. Tory was funny and Kari was fun to look at.

That really is a shock. I think that Adam and Jamie were the original heart and soul. But with the trio they added something that the other two didn't, I think they resonated with the younger generation better. Perhaps on a different level, but they had something unique or different that they brought to the show that Adam & Jamie just couldn't produce.
I think that it is a major mistake on the producer's part, and I think the show will suffer for it. Seems many shows I used to watch often, yet sometimes check on, keep making this simple mistakes of getting rid of core/really good support characters, that end up hurting or begin the downfall of the show.
Truly a shame.

They probably couldn't find an agreement on the money so they had to let them go. Those three are so known characters that I'm sure they won't have problems finding a new show. Then again the mythbusters may be a stigma on them making it hard to get new jobs, especially anywhere outside of reality tv.

Bet they wind up with their own show

Mythbusters would have needed 3 more Karis in skimpy clothing instead of letting her go. :devil

I wonder if the next myth is whether you really can jump a shark...
-
How about a myth of their ratings before and after losing three of the members
-
Just let them all transfer to "Deadliest Catch". I hear the Cornelia Marie is looking for deckhands.
-
myth busters has been getting more and more boring for a while now anyway. Maybe squeezing one or two more seasons out at budget costs isn't such a bad idea..

Well Mythbusters nielsen ratings have been going down since 2009, but then nielsen ratings for ALL tv shows have been going down since 2009 because fewer people are watching TV shows on televisions anymore. I liked Mythbusters more when the hosts were acting like themselves, before they started acting like characters, nickelodeon style. Ten years is a good run for something that isn't story based, and yeah, after about 100 episodes you start feeling like if you've seen one episode of Mythbusters you've seen them all. According to the stories I've read Tory, Grant and Kari didn't leave voluntarily, they got the ax. It's about ratings, they're reverting to the old format hoping it will improve ratings, it's not about Tory, Grant and Kari being too expensive. They're trying to stave off cancellation as long as they can.

Im sure they will find another network to pick any of them up if Discovery hoses them

I just hope the Discovery channel doesn't put up more garbage like this: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/discovery-responds-shark-week-megalodon-600465 I remember when I was a kid when Discovery actually had good shows on there like "Wild Discovery". The National Geographic channels are the only good documentary channels worth watching anymore. Occasionally the History channel plays some informative shows as well.
It's sad to see Tory, Grant, and Kari go. Mythbusters was one of the few shows that kept me watching the Discovery Channel.

Goodbye Kari and the two boobs :bolt:

I really miss the old TLC before it was a no click zone for me I cant believe how far TLC has gone from its roots. History channel is kinda going that way to with all the reality shows.
-
I didn't even know myth busters were still being made. History Channel and Discovery Channel used to be all I watched until all the reality shows took over...
