That was to young for a nine year old to be shooting a full auto to start with . All I can do to hold one .

Where were the child's parents? To let a child that age to be taught to use a gun?
-
I don't believe this is the first time this has happened. I recall something like this happening with a young boy a few years back with a sub, tried to google it but I have to run.

That's not to young to shoot like a 22cal but not a sub . I was deer hunting at that age .
-
I first shot a gun when I was 3. My dad's service M1 Carbine. I joined a gun club when I was 7.

Too young for an Uzi for sure.
First time I shot one I was in a standing position with the stock folded out. We were ordered to fire bursts of 3 or 4 rounds at the targets I pulled the trigger and sent about 10 rounds up the side of the wall of the outdoor range. The range officer screamed at me....I felt like a complete idiot. But once I got the hang of it it was easy to squirt off 3 round bursts into the target. It was just a lack of knowledge of how the weapon would react.
I was 20 years old when that happened.

How could you possibly have done that with a 9mm SMG?! A 9 year old girl might have problems with it, but it's not like there's any real recoil for a grown man. :huh

Never fired one before that.
Had no idea what to expect.
Posting a video of a guy who has clearly fired an Uzi before is supposed to show what exactly?
try this:

or any number of first timer vids.

And that teenager did not send "about 10 rounds up the side of the wall of the outdoor range". And that's even a .45 ACP chambered UZI...
-
Fact is it will climb on full auto unless it's controlled, whether by a man or a nine year old girl. That's why everybody should get proper training before firing any weapon.
The 'Instructor' was completely careless and paid the price and now the poor kid has to live with her parents bad choice of recreational activity.
I was trained on the Carl Gustav sub machine gun, also known as the 'Swedish K'. That would climb like crazy on full auto.
-
I've shot the "K-Pist" on several occasions. It is one of the most docile subguns out there.

"Climb like crazy" :lol

GS....are you trying to go "full lazs" here? Manly man stuff?
I simply told a story and you try and ridicule it. It happened to me, I can see it easily happening to a kid. That is the point I was making.
-
No not manly man, but you obviously needed a lot more instruction before handling a full auto firearm. Just like that 9 year old girl. And for a 20 year old there really aren't any excuses for letting a pistol calibre SMG run away like that. There's a reason the range officer screamed at you. No offense.

As a friend of mine likes to say... "play stupid games, win stupid prizes."

While I agree with you that more training is certainly necessary, to ridicule an individual for losing control of a firearm they were not properly trained on nor experienced with is just as foolish for you. For those of us with plenty of experience with firearms, these may be tame. You or I may be able to pick up a full-auto firearm and keep it under control, because we know what to expect and have the muscle memory for firearms already built up. Put a beginner on a gun without properly instructing them, and even an AR-15 will feel uncontrollable. That would be akin to laughing at someone saying a mustang is a very easy car to drive, after they told you how terrifying it was to run a GT through the autobahn at full speed the day they got their learner's permit. Your perspective and his are very different; that doesn't make his any less valid.

LOL
It was in the ARMY dude. Is that enough "instruction" for you?
Now what....the British Army officer that was training us didn't know what he was doing?
I was selected for the NCO team that shot our rifles against the Marines, Canadinas, Brits, SWAT etc. at the end of that Camp.
I think they did ok.

Yeah, let's let the 9 year old shoot an Uzi full auto after popping just one test shot. Unfortunately those are new famous last words now.
