Looking at the tight clusters of bases on Fester this idea came to me:

Showing/hiding bases by type:
- Airfield
- Port
- Vehicle base

I mean just what I wrote: Show or hide bases on the map by category.

What might also be nice is if the bases were just dots on the map, and when you hover over it (like with a friendly aircraft dot) you get the base type "Large Airfield", "Vehicle Base", "Small Airfield", etc.

That would make it difficult to tell what is what at a glance wouldn't it?
