Sweet can we drive over the Telephone pole's? but the town is pretty cool looking and now bigger berms for Dr7 to hide behind and snuff ya

Cool, is that the new town layout? Looks great... Although, I did think it odd having a telephone pole every 25 feet in town, and on both sides of the street... Landings in town shouldn't be a problem, taking off might be though. :D

not trying to be a dick but I'm not very impressed... it looks better than what we have now thats for sure, but the trees are just a complete buzz killer.

I'm with Joachim on this one. I hate to admit it (I generally always try to be positive, especially on forums) but the ground textures look very, very dated. The road texture looks like the result of dozens of clone-stamp tool impressions of the same small image. The new objects like the buildings are a bit of an improvement, but man, that gamey sky and ground. . .
I only say this with the hope that textures and lighting will be significantly improved. If someone can point me to a statement from HTC that this is a priority, I would rest a little easier.
Again, this is coming from a loyal fan of the gameplay of AH, especially of my squadron. But I would sure like to feel like I'm playing a modern sim with this graphics update. I do appreciate your hard work, though!

I sure am glad that we are waiting to see the final product before we bash it. :old:
Guys I can say no more, other than W. A. I. T. and see for yourself. Bandicam or whatever on Youtube is so compressed, the only thing that should be commented on are the vast improvements in terrain texture and hundreds of hours of artwork that has been added. Everything showed in that clip should be seen only as a peek at a sample pallete from which future AH players' environment will be filled.

Yeah, the max resolution available on YouTube to watch it is 720 and they're calling it HD and that's AFTER the video compression LOL.

Looks better, but why aren't the tank's tracks moving? If you watch the last 15 seconds or so the tank is moving but the tracks are stationary. :headscratch:

#1 Those are cobble stone streets made up of individual stones, watch when it nearly comes to a stop and the individual stones in the road and the sidewalks.
#2 Look at the last few frames when the tank stops in front of the tree, what is the tree doing?
lets wait until the final release and see how much more development is made.

I really like what I see. I just wonder if you can fly into the wires and if it causes damage? That would be awesome.

We are now on to lots of small items that need to be updated and addressed, along with the complete art set rebuild of all terrain objects that we have been working on for the past 6 months.
That gives me hope for the textures/objects. I only hope the high detail area shown around the tank in the video can be extended well into the distance. But that is an engine issue not an art asset that can be changed later.

At least there is a level of detail bubble... I recall stories a few years ago of graphics performance problems because objects that were a mile beyond visibility were being rendered lol.
HTC should make the detail distance adjustable for low end machines and enable high level of detail for the rest.

Compare the resolution and then imagine what an actual screen shot of the work in progress would look like. Did you actually think HTC would spend their precious time catering to all those graphics update requests with something that has poorer resolution than it did 5 years ago? Lighten Up! You haven't seen anything.
