Quote
The MiG-21bis is a delta wing, supersonic, fighter-interceptor jet aircraft. Much like the AK-47 became the everyman's rifle, the MiG-21 has been operated by more than 40 countries worldwide, and has enjoyed the longest production run of any modern jet fighter to date. The MiG-21, in all of its variants, has fought in wars stretching all the way from the Vietnam War in the 1960's to the modern day Syrian Civil War. Owing to its unique blend of versatility, ruggedness and maintainability, the MiG-21 remains in active service to this very day.

Leatherneck Simulations' recreation of the MiG-21 is, by far, the most accurate and comprehensive simulation of this supersonic jet fighter to date. The fully simulated systems, interactive cockpit, advanced flight modeling and incredible graphical fidelity come together to create a package that will provide you with the most authentic simulation possible. So strap in, and get ready to experience the rebirth of a legend.

I wish I could fly that.   I am having trouble flying flaming cliffs three do to the fact that my rudders pedals aren't recognized which leads to them stuck to the far left.  Also my warthog horas none of my buttons are recognized so I guess I won't be flying that

The Fulcrum is very attractive.

Fulcrum, on the other hand....not so much.  :lol

Yup, it's the hunchback. Bigger engine needs more fuel. Radar in the intake nosecone...

I many ways the F-16, its design was influenced by the MiG-21, mimics this "growth". Older aircraft weren't usually designed with lots of space for future upgrades, and thus end up looking like mongrels.

It even has the humpback...

The back is the easiest place to add volume, hence indeed many planes grew a humpback over time, or a thick base to the tail. The ugly squarish things on the body of the F16I are large fuel tanks. Fuel is a problem - you cannot minimize it like electronics so it takes a lot of volume, it is heavy and must be balanced around the center of gravity. Adding a large volume of internal fuel is bound to deform the plane.

Question: I looked at some of the DCS World stuff and the first thing I noticed was the lack of foes. i.e the 190 add on didn't show any enemy bombers etc like b17s/b24s? Is this a shortcoming of DCS games or did I miss something?

It's hard to model something down to every last detail, especially something like a four-engined bomber probably.
There is the Fw 190D-9 vs P51 pairing, though.

But I'm talking AI foes.

Last night I managed to get the engine running all on my own! I unlocked the nose wheel and use differential braking to taxi to the runway. Using full afterburner I took off, retracted the flaps and spent the next five minutes figuring out how to raise the landing gear. When I finally figured it out I throttled back to military power and could enjoy a few minutes of flying around in the clouds before trying to find the airbase again. Having visually located the airbase I lowered my flaps and tried to lower the landing gear. After failing to lower the landing gear for about five minutes I gave up and bellied it in. I blacked out on impact and the MiG veered off the runway to the right, but stayed in one piece. A landing I could walk away from...
