Title: Top 10 worst WW2 aircraft
Post by: tmetal on October 01, 2014, 09:49:54 AM
An opinion article from 2011 listing the top 10 worst aircraft of WW2. I found it interesting enough and figured I would post a link here for others to enjoy

Not a bad list. Of course they were smart enough not to include the Brewster. I'll bet the guy that wrote the article is an AH subscriber. :)

Hmm, I also wonder about that whole thing re: 163s exploding all the time. Would love to see some actual WrkNrs of which ones exploded, representing X% of the total number built...

Surprised only one Japanese plane made the list.  G4M ought to be a serious candidate.  Mitsubishi even told the IJN they needed four engines to meet the range requirements and make it an effective warplane.

Imagine the armor/self sealing tanks and armament Mitsubishi could have afforded to put on the G4M if it had four 1500hp engines rather than two.
