Title: Hobbies
Post by: Dragon Tamer on October 01, 2014, 10:09:47 AM
Out of curiosity, what are some hobbies that you guys have outside of the game?

When I'm not doing homework (far from a hobby), I'm usually watching anime (I really need to thank Latrobe for getting me started on that), listening to music, playing GTA on the Xbox, or farting around with skins.

Edit: Or eating, I'm almost always eating something.

I like to read up on history so I could expand my knowledge further from what it is now, or play other games like the Total War series, Silent Hunter, or FSX.

I also like bike riding and I play piano as well.

For me, its riding my motorcycle and collecting guns, although if this house purchase goes through, I plan to get into basic woodwork to be more handy.

Biking.  I have a hybrid (Giant Nutra), so my trips are pretty much limited to around 20 miles.  But it's good for exercise.

You're welcome  :D

Outside of AH2, I'm mainly either watching Anime or listening to music non-stop and discovering new and awesome bands.  :rock

sitting outside reading while enjoying a fine cigar.  Fabricating whatever idea or concept is rattling around in my head (the latest thing was a reverse dunking booth) or using solidworks to build 3D computer models of stuff I find intersting.  This TIE defender is my most recent finished model:

Cooking and baking (even though it's part of my duties it's also a hobby), some programming and doing all kinds of non-flying AH stuff, listening to music (very important to me), composing (not so much these days though). Occasionally some drawing, writing, abusing the bass, plastic model building and generally wasting my time with petty stuff.

Used to do that, many tanks, you name it, african cichlid tank, discus tank, managua cichlid, even had a 75 gallon with three illegal red belly piranhas. Did a reef tank once just wasn't as satisfying to me, felt like I was trying to keep a coma patient alive or something. Check this, check that, adjust the calcium drip. I found I prefer a healthy well planted freshwater tank rather than a second sun in the living room that is a reef tank. Had a dart frog setup once even, that was way cool, you just got to convince the wife to give up a closet to breed fruit flies. Be advised though, just like aquaria, one dart frog vivarium won't be enough and it will start taking over your house.

This.

Another hobby I forgot to mention was my tinkering with electronics and programing. I haven't picked up anything related to the two in a while. I would prefer not to while I'm still in school because I know that if I do my mind is just going to wander off constantly thinking about thins that I need to "invent."
