Is there some reason why the clipboard is translucent? Trying to think of a benefit to it and there doesn't seem to be one. :headscratch:
Same thing with logging in and getting blinded in the tower with this "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" type of unnatural, blinding light.
-
The clipboard used to block the sunlight, but changed a few years back. Not sure why.

:rofl Fantastic! Love that movie! One of those flicks from my childhood. :aok
I just pan over and block it with some random canopy frame.
-
It's the setting/rising sun. Put on sunglasses or look sideways.

It was changed because players were shrinking the clipboard down and using it to block the sun.
Having the sun blazing away is a game feature. How many time dids you read a story, watch a movie and they talk about how "the enemy dove out of the sun".

Ahh yeah I remember that one:
The enemy dove out of the sun, the sun glare hid him masterfully from his enemies, his red icon was barely visible, showing he was rook and closing in at an alarming rate at 1k yards.

you may not remember this seeing as you don't play any more, :noid but the sun in the game does blot out both the dot and the icons effectively hiding the enemy.

It's not a bug, it's a feature.

I read books containing a strange and very ridiculous rumor : WWII pilots used sun glasses... How impossible...! Heresy, no doubt ! :devil

yep, although as others have mention sunglasses did exist. They should be a loadout option. Perked of course.

Only perked if they are rayban aviators or Oakley Juliets, service station sunglasses should be perk free :old:

Silly, nay...outright stupid reason. Any idea how hard it is to move the clipboard around AND keep it where the sun is while your in the middle of a fight?
How many time have we heard of pilots putting their hand up to block the sun. Hell. How many times have you done it yourself IRL.
There is no hand to raise in AH. The clipboard is the closest we have
They also tended ot wear sunglasses. Which we also dont have that option
-
Reportedly wearing actual sunglasses while playing helps
