My kid has discovered youtube, oh gawd.
Instead of watching the same damn videos day after day and eating internet allocation, I'm trying to get kiddo to download the things to kiddo's HD and have done with it. Kiddo has an old computer, so I don't want to try downloading standalone software. Is there a good, safe website that allows YouTube downloads without additional software, amazing free offers, secret code surprises or other nastiness?
TIA.

Firefox has several add-ons from their official website that does that and will download pretty much any streaming content.
Open youtube in your Firefox browser, browse, click the download button or use RMB menu depending on the add-on, done.

I have set special rules on my router to block all these bad sites and direct them to my personal computer. You know, to keep track if they still have smut or not. :ahand

Hahahaha when I was the operations manager for an IT department at a title insurance company, we had a filter that would automatically forward us a copy of any pictures or videos inbound.
The number of homemade "sex tapes" we got was absurd. That company WAS the wild west though... no one ever got fired, I would ring up the COO and send him a copy, he'd watch it, then we'd call the person in question on conference and just bust their balls.
I remember one guy saying "Look, I can't control what is sent to my email..." and when the COO said "Buddy, that's YOU in the video..." he replied "Well, that's your opinion. You can't prove it." I piped up and said "HUH... why don't you take a look at that gaudy bellybutton watch on that guys wrist again before you go any further..." (silence)... "So... uhhhh... what if I promise not to send that kind of stuff to my work email anymore?" I had to mute myself after that hahahaha
