Yeah it was a huge feature that maybe isnt appreciated enough. Most of all for Bomber pilots who may put a whole lot of time and effort into getting to Alt and into an attack profile. A really great feature. :salute

Was not working yesterday for the mass disco I was involved in.
I do agree though it is a good feature. :aok

Ohh! I thought you'd all been dancing in the '70s.

It's the Internet. Anything outside the Hitech campus is completely out of their, and your, control. Not fanboi-ing here. I have to put up with countless demands from corporates who use the Internet as a transport in some part of their email network for me to make it 100% reliable. There is only so much you can do and it comes down to money and even then you can still fall victim to some other third party's misfortune.

Just breathe and remember it is amazing that any of this stuff hangs together in the first place.

There's only a limited # of AI slots available. Mass disco's can easily go past that number.

I had wondered about the missing AI during the mass discos.  I assumed the mass disco were server related and that is why no AI.  Thanks for the info Lusche.

Correct.

Mass discos are almost always related to a router on the Internet.  If the server crashes, everyone is impacted equally.  Large groups of players being dumped are normally due to that group passing through a common router, somewhere on the Internet having an issue of some kind.

I've played very sporadically since this feature came about, maybe 15 hours this year.  The first sortie I remember taking in a LONG time I didn't even realize that this relog after disco feature existed.  Of course, my disco happened with the typical first 262 sortie, Murphy's law right.  Imagine my surprise when I logged back in and watched the screen draw itself rapidly into a 262 cockpit flying merrily along at 10k with a bunch of red cons in chase but without closure.

Best thing since sliced bread, I still think this on rare occasion when it is needed due to the vagaries of the internet - first time in a long time was just the other week - worked like a charm again, no jet this time though.

While this feature is appreciated while in the MA, to be reconnected and put back in your plane while flying in an FSO is absolutely priceless.

Thank you HTC, I never even imagined this was possible and certainly never saw it on a wish list.

That's an excellent point, I don't really fly FSO, so I didn't occur to me, but Z is absolutely right - when you only have a single life, to lose it to a disconnect is a major, major drag, and I've had this happen in the past in an event.  This feature is gold pressed latinum in that event now.

BTW, do you guys lose your WEP upon reconection too (I do in the P47)?

P-40C loses all internal fuel. Drop tank retains the fuel. The moment you drop the DT engine stalls due to fuel starvation.

My favorite part is pinging at friendlies when they are disco'd... AI are unfortunately teathered to Country 1 of the terrain and quite funny when a enemy killshot themselves on a disco'd plane...
