Look familiar? Amazing what they can punch out in 5 years when they get their stolen data. 2009 a Boeing employee was caught selling the C17 plans and data to the Chinese. Sure didn't take them long to work from those plans. You can see a little bit of the Airbus a/c blended into the design from the looks of it. Not an exact copy of the C17 by any means, but a very close relation from the looks of it.
-
lol Russia used to be the best at copying, clearly China has their act beat these days
-
Stolen plans or not, if you're going to build a 4 engine military transport plane it's going to come out looking very similar to the C-17 or Y-20…..it's simply state of the art.
-
Well if they did use stolen data then they mixed it up because it looks more like an Il-76 with an Airbus tail.
-
True, pretty much all 4 engine modern jet transports will look close enough I suppose. The Chinese J20 sure looks like an F22 as well however, and their current JSF J31 copy looks much like the F35 with 2 engines - it's plainly obvious that they've copied US designs, if not in whole, at least in great part, for many, many current A/C. I've seen pictures of the AH64 copy they've made, and it's so close to be scary, the same site linked above has pictures of it on a flatbed trailer in China, and you would be hard pressed from 500 yards away to tell the difference from an Apache, and in low light, almost impossible at that range I would wager.

They may look look like BMWs, but they might as well be built out of rice paper.
-
One way to create confusion is to make your vehicles look like theirs. It's a double-edged sword though.

A radar blip with no IFF is a radar blip with no IFF...

Two questions on this point.
1. When?
2. How will this effect proper Chines food "in the little white boxes" for New Jersey?
-
They are going to ban it and eat Mcadonalds and get fat like fatty Arbuckle or yourself :old:

I think this was on the history channel some time ago. After our Air Force had to force land a bomber in Russia the Russians took a long time to give permission to repair the plane and take it off. When they got back to the plane it was obvious it had been taken apart. I think it was a B29 and they built a TU4.
-
Four B-29s made emergency landings in the USSR during WWII. The Soviets never returned three of them. Because of the Soviet–Japanese Neutrality Pact, the Soviets were neutral in the Pacific War and the bombers were interned and kept by the Soviets. The fourth crash-landed after the Yalta agreement and Russian decleration of war with Japan, and was returned.

The Chinese put turboprops on their B-29 copies in a rather ugly hotchpotch way...

To be fair..... it looks like an IL-76 mated with a C-17....
I like it.
