Done, this plane should stay in the UK.
BTW: Since I live in the USA I gave the site an address for a McDonalds in London in order to vote. :airplane:

Is this the onw? http://www.platinumfighters.com/#!hurricane-xii/c6y6
-
Done, used my old address from when I last lived in UK.
-
Yes Silver it is that one :cry
No offence but I really hope it doesn't end up state side in a private collection. it needs to be in the Battle of Brittan squadron.
PS I have signed it too.
love the American support for this, its much apprieated guys.
-
I really hope the British can see past the money on this and own their country's history.
-
Who owns the aircraft now?
-
No idea, I just saw the title and had a knee jerk reaction of 'BLOODY HELL!' and signed the petition. Haven't looked into it but I have a feeling this Hurricane isn't and never has been associated with the BBMF. But even so, I'd still like it to stay in Britain.

I need a UK postcode to use so I can finish fraudulently signing your petition.
Personally I think you guys should be flying this thing.
-
I don't care what happens to it so long as it is properly cared for. These things ebb and flow. It will wind up in Britain again someday if it isn't destroyed...

Make them an offer! Is this the same aircraft auctioned in 2012? Nope, guess not. . . seems to be a repeat of history then.

If I win the Eurolotto tonight I will buy it. But I'll keep it based in the Britain mostly although I will bring it over to my newly bought airport once I get checked out on it. I can't guarantee I won't paint it in Irish Air Corps markings for a while though. :airplane:

I understand the desire Swoop, but that bird was in India for 54 years and was privately purchased and restored. When I first read your post I thought it was one of the Battle of Britain Flight Hurricanes.
It would be nice if it remained in England, but someone needs to step up with the cash.
I'd be hollering for all the American made warbirds to come home too, but then I remember all the restorations done by the Fighter collection and elsewhere overseas. I'm guessing the Aussies might like their Aussie built Beau back too :)
