Title: 31 kills in 262
Post by: xPoisonx on November 22, 2014, 06:55:58 PM
Just a little video I made... It's pretty long so don't feel like you have to watch all of it :aok

The video doesn't show my death, but it was at the hands of 999000, didn't even let me get within 600 of his B17.

Post one when you beat Grizz 100 kill run in the 262 .

Be supportive plz.

People can still post videos of a nice run if they want no one needs to beat anyone's record to do so.

I don't believe Flench meant that to sound as hostile as it did, he simply thinks that you're capable of doing better.  :)

31 is very nice though, I've never had more than 17 in anything myself.

I got up to 49 wasnt trying for anything Bish just kept sending noob planes  (3rd re-arm in a 262).

Took a Pilot wound from a stray P47D-11 50cal round,    kept blacking out on final got   when it happened for a 3rd time on a go around and ended up sliding it sideways through a hedge in the end!   :old:

I lied I remember a sortie where I landed 20 in the 262, and Fester landed 23. No rearm.

I don't feel it's possible to do that anymore numbers are lower than they used to be, either that or I'm still a noob in the 262.

Best I've done with no rearms is 16.

I agree with this. Perhaps you could post a movie showing you getting your 30 kills in a p40 on your squadmates in Early War arena to gain rank 2 (now, I couldn't resist the challenge).

The hurricane IICs you killed piloted by supposed good sticks must have been particularly impressive flying on your part in the P40c but what I really want to learn is how one kills a squadmate in his B25C 15 times on top of the other fighter kills in just 6 sorties and 35 mins of flight.

51 kills per hour of flight! It's quite remarkable. I think the whole community could benefit from such a training aid.

farming for a 262?

you have to admit, 51 kills/hour is too good not to poke fun at :)

Good film.  I find your way of flying/aiming strange and interesting - the sight is often out of view from your head position, and you drag it up once you close distance, and shoot with it sort of off angle/out of place from dead center.  I couldn't hit a barn doing it that way, and find it interesting to watch.

I think that would be using marks on the monitor right?

wouldn't work with track IR.

Did you notice I still use the gunsight when I take the shot? Don't think marking up my monitor would help   :headscratch:

If you place a piece of scotch tape on the monitor where your gunsight dot is amd make a black mark on the tape on top of the reticle dot, you can shift in the cockpit and the sight is always with you looking forward.  If you move up and down, left and right while looking forward, it's very beneficial, lol.

Especially for crossing shots with taterz dude.

you can have track IR and still do this easily.

Would rather play the game as intended.

you can do it, your rounds won't go toward the dot though, so it's kind of useless.

I shot very similarly when i played/had trackIR. You use the gunsight only for the final line up (if you do a line up) like you would in real life. that's the cool thing about trackir, the immersion

I'm not arguing or accusing.  I simply asked after viewing.  Matters not to me.

Any of the 144hz Asus gaming monitors have an electronic sight (4 actually) that is part of the monitor you can activate if you want, instead of using a marker or piece of tape or whatever.  It only really makes a diff IMO with planes that you can move the seat up past the stock AH sight center - example, the K4 you can't push the sight out of the reflector completely, but the KI84 or the Mosquito, you can really see a whole lot more over the nose, or beside it even, if you move crap around.  I find it too disorienting to do that, heck, I even still have to switch off trackIR in a fight as I find old habits and my hat views faster for me.

But it does represent an advantage that many use I think, for more accurate shots over the nose when pulling G while shooting.

I've had 3 of the 24", one of the 27", and now the 27" 1440p Rog Swift, and all have this gunsight capability.

I love the mossie and always shoot looking as far as possible up but once you start shooting it's pretty easy to correct from the tracers.
