Title: 144hz
Post by: Goat1 on December 03, 2014, 10:09:29 PM
Got a quick question. I just bought a ROC G20A computer, now I want to get a monitor with a refresh rate of 144hz,
will Aces High work with that type of monitor?

Thanks;

Yes.  I've had 3 Asus types of 144hz, and one BenQ, all work fine with Aces High, you'll be seeing 143 to 144 fps in no time if your PC can push it.  Once you see 144 and go back and look at 60, you'll immediately see the difference, and not want to ever return to it.

I've been using a Benq 120 hz monitor for AH for a year or so and find it a big improvement for gameplay, but it isn't so good at colour reproduction so I use a 60hz IPS panel for skinning.

I've not tried an Oculus Rift but generally anything like that makes me motion sick. FPS type games or padlock views that move my POV to follow a target will make me nauseous in minutes.

Got the same monitor yesterday just in time for FSO, along with my Asus computer was a steady 144 fps with all graphics.
