Have you guys seen WWII The Complete History in 13 approximately 1 hour segments? If not it's worth watching.
The story starts at the end of WWI detailing the political climate that led to the outbreak of WWII. There's a lot of good information on the world leaders, politics, strategy, technology and of course, awesome war footage of every type from every part of the world including several tidbits of information I never knew about.
Be warned that once you get started it's kind of addicting. I'm through the first six episodes watching 2-3 at a sitting.
Here's a link to episode 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3mFG0Du_DKU (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3mFG0Du_DKU)
If you haven't seen it enjoy.

I too think it is a great series. Not so conventional and underlining as many of the similar products. You really need to focus when watching it, because the narrative is pretty straight forward. Nothing is repeated. You lose your focus for a moment and you lose some information. It is like this guy whose accent has rised opinions is reading a book and the images of war flow by. But I do like it.
Here is a link for what they said about the finnish front in the series:
