I was wondering if this would be worth having.
A Aces High smartphone app that allowed us commuters to launch our first sortie before we get home.
A player could pick a plane / loadout and where to launch it from so it is in the air when they get home and are able to fly at least one more sortie when we play on workdays.
The planes would just auto takeoff and climb, maybe allow them to set a couple of waypoints.
An altitude cap for the planes would be necessary.
Just a thought.

Interesting idea... Can't see it being popular enough to be practical.

Get home, start up game, launch some bombers autoclimb, go take a shower, maybe some dinner, check bomber course, have relations with the wife *(or girl friend), drop on target :D , then back to the game. :bolt:

I get the wish, but we'd be better served with air spawns a few sectors back of front lines.. Less code integration across platforms, yet still gets you into action faster.

I do not know about starting missions/flights, maybe a pre-saved configuration, only issue would be which field / runway #. Like the idea of having a phone app to check in on the game +1
As I have said in other posts, in our family I'm the only one with a windows platform. HTC needs to expand to other platforms.

I dunno about launching missions or starting flights - that seems pretty out there. But a simple app to show current arena populations? That seems useful and doable.
Course, HTC probably and rightly has their hands full working on the new update...

I like this idea. Should result in more high-altitude engagements, more typical of WWII.
- oldman (both sides need the air spawns, of course)

You can already do this.
Just load a VNC app to your phone, set up the VNC access on your computer, and you can now control your computer (and all of its games, including Aces High) from your phone.
The screen update (effectively the frame rate) isn't fast enough to do anything except take off and maybe bomb with, but you could easily use it to launch the game and take off on autopilot.
I've leveled up MMORPG characters on timed quests from my phone using a VNC client.

I like the idea of an app, but not for ingame control. I think an app could be useful in showing arena populations. Maybe you could set up notifications to alert when sqaudies are online. The stalker feature.

I'd rather have a chan 200 chat phone app.

This app would be just to be able to climb so high that no one would bother climbing up to reach you? Why not fly offline instead if you're worried about opposition?

Is there a smartphone app that allows you to take control of your Windows PC desktop remotely from the road?
The lag would make doing anything but getting your plane off the ground on auto climb out frustrating. I'm not sure how worried you are about unauthorized access to your PC from the internet. If you used TrackIR you would have to set that running before going to work then Ctrl_F5 first thing in the tower you launch your plane to have keypad view control. Then once home, reactivate TR in the game. I'm not sure how the game would respond to this.
It would be kind of like using PCAnywhere with NT to play Quake Tourny on a PC in SF from NY. Techs at B of A had a hidden Quake server to fill in some of the down time with when I worked there.

You can control via virtual server... Sure the lag would be pretty harsh to preventing complex gameplay however it does remotely allow you to control the PC you're playing on... It is then a matter of having the keybinds for something simple like full-throttle...

I would actually like that

LoL, 99% of people have no idea what you're talking about.
The idea itself isn't terrible. If Dale doesn't start thinking about the future soon, it will be ugly for all of us. Being able to start a bomb run might not be bad. The only thing is knowing what map is current and what direction the mountains are.
