I wish that when it tells me who shot me down, it also gives you what plane they were in. In a furball its common to get hit by several players before dying and it would be nice to know who dealt the lethal blow. Sometimes when my tunnel vision is in full force, I never even see the guy.
Old wish? Don't know 'cause I didn't feel like searching. :D

Good wish +1
-
You were shot down by a Spitfire MkXIV flown by Player 1.
You have been killed.
This I would like. :aok
-
It's an excellent wish and a double edged sword.
We have biases in the game about rides and cartoon manhood. And they frequently end up in these forums with Skuzzy showing up.
-
THis is easy enough to figure out now. You can use the web page score/stat pages to see who killed you and in what. On top of that you can look at film. I film every fight (start when I engage, stop when in the tower :devil ) and I name them "who is 190", "who was nik" "wuss in runstang" and so on. Then I go through them on the weekend and save only what I can learn from, and clear out the rest.

30 cals are garbage, that was a lop sided fight from the beginning.
It doesn't matter though we all had a barbeque down on the ground while we were waiting to get rescued.

That isn't anywhere close to easy compared to...AMAX shot you down in a KI84. In game..
It's a great wish and shouldn't have any -1s. Simply no reason to not have it other then it takes time away from programming other things in game.

One of the cool things in AW was the AAR report in the O'Club that showed who shot you down, what they were in and the time they shot you down.

just give me a simple text logfile similar to the ones produced in the SEA, but stored locally on my computer:
05/05/15
02:45 Snailman takes off from A45 (Compello) in a Ta 152H-1
03:15 Snailman shoots down Hanky in a B-17
03:17 Snailman helps Tony shoot down Hanky in a B-17
03:18 Snailman has been shot down by Goof in a P-47N
05/05/15
03:22 Snailman takes off in a Arado 234 from A27 (Compello)
(...)
03:59 Snailman lands safely at A27 (Compello)

Personal logs as such you find like this from events would be super nice... they shouldn't be much of an addition since everything you do is logged anyways.

That's how the AAR looked in AW.

The AAR would be neat as well, but I'm looking for in-game, quick info. When numbers are low and its late, it doesn't take much to convince someone to log. I don't want anything that nudges a player to tab out.

It would be possible, like I mentioned it was done in AW in-game. It could be just another clipboard option to select when you're in the tower.

Instead of in the active text buffer. From the tower, or in flight\driving\sailing on the next sortie, right click the map and an option "Last Sortie". Tells you who you shot down or, who\what shot you down, and what you destroyed on the last sortie. It's up the HiTech if this is an aggregated list for your MA session or, just the last sortie.
In this way, the worst and best of players intentions will be served. But, by only those it matters to remember how to get to that statistic. And you don't add more clutter to the text buffer, except...... 200 could become a raging cesspool again, along with the abuse of PM because it's right there in black and white to rub players noses in.
My long years of experience says it will be abused. Testosterone, adrenalin, childish man children, and no fog of war equals a cesspool.
It is an excellent wish for angels.
-
There already is a "last killers" list. The list could be expanded to include what, as well as who shot you down. Right after that bug that's been there the whole time gets fixed. :D
-
No legitimate reason

All your saying is from your "experience" it's going to be used for trolling/harassment....that's a 1% of the community. Most of the community won't even notice it.

It wasn't abused in AW, and WB had something similar and it wasn't abused, nor has the log file created for SEA events been abused.

Notice what? :headscratch: :D

+1 :aok

That small percentage has been able to turn good things in our game into cesspools. This isn't the AW generation anymore. It is an excellent wish. Or am I talking to the testosterone jockeys who are already counting the ways they can stick it to others......

But those are much different crowds. Old days of AW and WB were WWII nuts, and events are populated by WWII nuts as well. The MA is full of many who would love to go out of their way ANYWAY to harass other players.
I still don't think it's needed, with smart phones, tablets, and laptops laying around the house you don't even have to "tab out" of the game any more. Just use a different device.

It's all about the screen shot and then running to the forums to trash the player with friends and crony peer pressure to trash along with you. Always wondered why Skuzzy didn't lock those posts asap, and png the poster for a couple of days.
As far as Aspen\AMAX goes, he plays late at night and is interested in who bested him in what ride. He's often outnumbered and the final killer of his plane is not the person getting the kill credit. I'm there late at night with him on some occasions and he flys into the sea of red. You want a good fight, he is on pacific time around 7pm to midnight. So is Razor.
Now for the rest of you testosterone jockys, you guys just want the screen shot to pick whizzing matches on 200 and then in the forums with an audience to take shots with you.
